Welcome back!! I think the black Faber Castell pencils are student grade pencils, not professional ones like the polychromos. Here in Europe the black edition is very cheap.

I like my prismacolors. I love the Derwent Lightfast but wooweee they’re pricey. I have a few luminance and I don’t think they’re that great for the price. I have a few polychromos, too, and they’re probably my least favorite. Glad to see these and you. :)

Great video, Sharon! From what you say here and the various Instagram photos you posted, it seems that you and Pat had a really great vacation (and personally, I think the glass-bottomed rope bridge being closed counts as a bonus LOL - I also don't do heights at all well). Good to see Tully looking so well and enjoying time with his new temporary buddy Cerberus. That was a very interesting review of the pencils, by the way - as you say, even though there's nothing much wrong with them, why pay more if there are other tried and tested brands which perform overall just as well? Although I have some Derwent watercolour pencils (which are pretty decent) but the only coloured pencils I have are the Arteza ones which I picked up simply because they were getting decent reviews and were a bargain price. I have hardly used them yet but one day I'll take a break from watercolour and gouache and spend some time seeing what coloured pencils can do. They are perfectly fine pencils but yeah, no reason if you already have some. I understand now they are “a children’s playing and learning brand item.” Ha! If I had known that I would never have bought them. I don’t know what possessed me.

Welcome back!! Glad you had fun on vacation. On your create sign is the e missing? Sorry I saw it and now I can't unsee it lol. I bought oil pastels and pan pastels while you were gone lol! New toys to play with after my flooring gets laid next week. The pup has grown so much!!

I thought that prisma colour is a b6 softness. Therefor more colour.

I just got a set of Black edition skin tones, they got pastels, neons and the regular 48 set, too and thry also offer sharpeners that can sharpen the triangel shaped pencils. I personally enjoy how soft they are use them with my Polys abd think that those are probably not the fairest comparison as they are from their artist grade selection and the black edition is from their student to intermediate range ;) They're a somewhat decent competitor to the Prismacolor ones for me here in Germany where the Prismas cost an arm and a leg. But since the Prismas are probably much cheaper than they are here, those are obviously a better choice. ;)

I said they were good pencils. I said they were soft and creamy. But Prismacolor pencils are better and cheaper. It was my opinion. I know that when I say I don’t care for something someone inevitably takes offense or says I am unfair. It is my opinion. Prismacolor lays evenly whereas the others take more effort. I didn’t know they were student grade or I would’ve stated this. That explains a lot!😊

@@SharonCullenArt Sorry, if I seemed offended, I weren't :) I think you were pretty fair and since these are obviously more expensive in the States, I'd probably would be iffed at the price they cost and go for the Prismacolors, too, were I in your shoes 🥰 A box of 36 Prismas currently costs somewhere around 50 Euros (should be in the same realm in Dollars right now) and the 36 of the black edition ones around 14 to 20. But, hey, if the Prismas were just as accessible here, they absolutely were on my list as well, especially since they sell single ones, too ( the black editions only come in boxed sets) 😁 They don't have their street (or respectively atelier?) rep for nothing, do they 🥰?

@@SharonCullenArt They sure do got a broad range of stuff, do they? They children stuff usually comes with at least red packaging, but since these don't really and got a dark boxes like the professional stuff they sell, I'm not even surprised that people mistake them - especially when looking at the prices they sell them for abroad. They are definitely the upper range of school and children art supplies you can get here in Germany, but surely nothing to compare with professional stuff thry and other brands sell. Here in Germany they even sell them at grocery stores like Edeka or Rewe (which would be like a Target or Walmart, I guess) or discount stores, like our equivalent to your Dollar Trees or Five Belows :3

Welcome back.. when you showed your knees.. I thought… that could be me… also that strange bend leg on the left.. I have a new knee on the right.. I’m so happy with it… Oke… its painful in the beginning.. but after many exercises now I have no pain at all… I hope it will be so for you also!.. They are going to give me a nwe one on the left also.. Love these glasses!❤

Oh thank you so much for telling me that. Everyone has a horror story to tell and it’s so good to read someone’s positive experience. As an R N I know it’ll be hard the first few weeks but I will be fine. I think that being in the OR seeing them performed freaks me out more than anything. They pull out the construction tools just like they’re cutting lumber and started cutting the knee out of the middle! It runs through my head frequently. Ha!😊

@@SharonCullenArt Really… they walked in as Astronauts… and yes… it will hurt.. but after a few weeks.. and really!! keep it moving… do not rest to much.. you can exercise lying down on your bed… But now… I can do everything with it without pain.. only kneeling on the ground is not.. aahh..pleasant? I don’t know how to say it..(i’m Dutch) But just don’t do that.. you will develop a maner to go sit on the ground and stand op.. I call my legs now not X-legs but K-legs… When they put the new one in.. the corrected that side.. so now. K instead of X… hahaha.. and really if my right leg is giving me pain… I will let them do that one too!..
