Demonstration of Montolit Masterpiuma P3 score and snap tile cutter. This is a very capable and very versatile tile cutter. In this video I demonstrate how I cut tile with very little effort. Professional quality tools will perform much better and move the job along, the ability to reliably cut tiles by just scoring and snapping will save a lot of time and effort. This is a very high quality snap cutter, very well designed and made to cut all types of available ceramics, porcelain and glass tiles, including glass mosaic.

Just bought this cutter. Paid for itself in the first job. Only complaint is it's tough to see your marks for point to point cuts. The single bar makes it hard see your marks. I wish the entire scale was in inches. Anything less than 2 1/2" inches is metric. Otherwise it's a great cutter. I'm very happy with it.

Es uno de los pequeños inconvenientes con respecto a los cortadores con doble guía, tipo rubi .... mi consejo es que se aprende a trabajar con la regla de medición y no marcado en la cerámica. Saludos

any one know if that square goes up to the blade ?? with the TS 60 the square does not meet up to the blade and repetitive cuts of less than half inch are impossible any thoughts Sal and btw great demo videos thank you.
@djfglobal3377
@djfglobal3377 4 жыл бұрын
richard peatmont Couldn’t you use another tile as your “stop” that tile would rest against the stop . Example: set your stop 3” 1/4 away from blade and use a 3 “ tile against that and now butting tile to be cut to the 3” tile instead of directly against factory stop. Thus achieving in this situation 1/4” Just a thought , good luck

You seem to have an easier time with this machine than I do. The tiles want to splinter at the end when I make the break. Any tips?
@SalDiBlasi
@SalDiBlasi 6 жыл бұрын
This is a great machine, make sure you are scoring the entire length of the tile, from back to front, use a constant even pressure. There is a very small percentage of tiles that will be difficult to snap with this kind of cutter, the oil blister will help for most of those, but that still leaves a few that can only be cut on a wet saw.

Sal, what are the limitations of this type of cutter? How does a wet saw compare?
@SalDiBlasi
@SalDiBlasi 7 жыл бұрын
Tile cutters in general are a big time saver but are usually used for straight cuts only, curves, Us and L cuts will still require a wet saw.

@SalDiBlasi
@SalDiBlasi 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can, they make a rubber mat that goes on the cutter for that specific reason. I would have included it in this video, but did not have any mosaic tile on hand to demonstrate. I will however be making a separate video in the near future, just for the mat. Here is a link www.montolit.com/rubber-pad-for-cutting-mosaic/

@Jesusisthewayandtruth
@Jesusisthewayandtruth 3 жыл бұрын
@@robrobitaille6303 you can... But always best to set up a wet saw still. There seem to always be cuts that are awkward and small enough to need a saw. For example even if you have the pad if you need to cut only 1/⁸ or 1/4 inch off any edge you need a saw.

I have both Sigma and the Montolit. Both great cutters but the only thing about the Montolit I dont like is the extra motion to drop the breaker. Its a little complaint but when you have to make a bunch of repetitive cuts it sucks.

Sal, do you ever use black grout in showers? And does black grout fade easily? I grouted some small pieces of mosaic tile and Im gonna keep soaking them with water to see how the black grout reacts to the hard water we have here. Doing this before I install my shower.

Hi. I have always used ruby and sigma. My question is: It is possible to change the direction of cutting thrust. Bone, cut from the ruler outwards, similar to sigma. thank
@SalDiBlasi
@SalDiBlasi 7 жыл бұрын
No, this is a push cutter and not pull. the wheel is in a different position, also much easier to score on a push than on pull. Pull cutters are great for soft tile, push is better for harder tiles.
@DelAchamanChinet
@DelAchamanChinet 7 жыл бұрын
Sal DiBlasi I get it. But I do not speak of push or pull. I speak of pushing from the ruler to the front. Similar to sigma max (3dm)
@giuseppemaffei3727
@giuseppemaffei3727 7 жыл бұрын
Ciao Achaman, by pushing from the ruler to the front you have a problem, you need to hold the tiles in place because there isn't a bar that is holding the tile and the tile slides sometime. For this reason the professional tile cutters you make the incision pushing the tile against the square and the square holds the tile in perfect place.
@DelAchamanChinet
@DelAchamanChinet 7 жыл бұрын
I understand your comment, but that's not my question. My question is if turning the handle can be cut by pushing from the ruler forward or the opposite can not be by the design of the machine.
@giuseppemaffei3727
@giuseppemaffei3727 7 жыл бұрын
No you can't turn the handle because the design of the machine and the design of the machine is like that because the reason that I wrote above: (quote) :by pushing from the ruler to the front you have a problem, you need to hold the tiles in place because there isn't a bar that is holding the tile and the tile slides sometime. For this reason the professional tile cutters you make the incision pushing the tile against the square and the square holds the tile in perfect place.>>
