20 to 30 percent of polyphenols in plant based whole foods are attached to fiber. Eating a cereal like fiber1 will not the benefit of associated polyphenols. So better to get fiber from plant based whole foods such as whole grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables etc.

I don't find a label Non GMO irritating at all. I'm pleased they wrote that on the box

Well he listed some high fibre foods. The implication is if it's high in fibre and otherwise healthy (low sugar, salt etc.) then by all means eat it

but fruits contain lots of fiber which creates a healthy slow release mechanism for the sugar in your bloodstream. Fruit Juice on the other hand which is void of fiber is not healthy, even if it doesn't contain any added sugars. Due to the lack of fiber, fruit juice causes sugar spikes and starves your gut bacteria from nutrition. Gut bacteria primarily eat fiber, which has a host of functions that science is only beginning to scratch the surface of. We should consume fruits the way God made them because God knows way more than we do.

You're all kind ofright. Basically if it's whole fruit, eat it, as fruit has other health benefits. Just don't eat heaps of fruit. The world health organisation (not perfect I know) say eat no more than six teaspoons of sugar a day BUT don't count the sugar from whole fruit. This does not include smoothies made from whole fruit though, as the glycaemic index is too high; you need to chew it up yourself!
