Saw the original band back in the seventies. I was in the front row, never heard of them before, they were an opening act, blew me away, I knew they were going to be something special.

montrose 1st album CLASSIC ALL TIME TOP 10 HARD ROCK ALBUM ! it pushed all the right buttons which lead to a good time ! back then like about 15 cars full of my fellow suburban school kids drove out to the country dirt roads for a friday nite bon fire . driving back late nite drunk we put the montrose 8 track in and it got my friend so excited he started driving like 100mph and ran over at least 10 rural mailboxes in an out of control death ride while we all pleaded to slow down lol , which only made the mad man drive faster to make us more scared lol . after that the whole high school called that old yellow 1960s dodge probably polaris the montrose mobile , but none of us would no longer drive with the crazy bastard , lmao . thee elusive mr steven james snakleberry , the same person that almost killed me as a passenger on his grannys old heavy duty bicycle

These hard rocking songs, and the guys, hold up and put current "rock" to shame. And Sammy at SIXTY FRIGGIN FIVE knocks it outta the park. Satriani is a legend in his own right, and deserves credit for paying respect and tribute to the great Ronnie Montrose, and adding his spin so he wasnt merely copying but truly paying tribute. I saw Ronnie many times, and met him at a place called Brassy's in Cocoa Beach FL. A truly cool dude. And thank you Sammy, you're an ultimate class act for putting this on for him. Saw the original 4 in Concord in Aug 2005 thanks to SH. Always hoped to see the 4 again. The eponymous Montrose album make me pick up the guitar. RIP Ronnie. As long as we can hear your music and watch you rock on KZbin, There's good rockin tonite.

Sammy Hagar is a beast, a true Rock'n'Roll animal! I loved the first Montrose album when it came out in 74, would have liked to see them live, they even toured Germany with that Warner Brothers package in early 75 but they didnt play in my area, so I'm glad we have KZbin now !

I wore out my Montrose cassette in my 87 S10 along with Steely Dan Greatest Hits. The thing I like about Rock the Nation and Bad Motor-scooter is that relentlessness. You don’t get a chance to come up for air til it’s over. It’s like being strapped to a musical rocket sled.

Been a fan since "they only come out at night"(Prolly in 3rd grade).. then of course THE record. Got to interview him in the 80's while working at WREK in ATL in the 80's. I had just finished the blues show and he was coming in to promote his show that night on the classic rock show and the guy taking over didn't really know who he was. I was totally prepared on the fly... he was impressed some 20 yr old was totally hip to him...

@@charliehustle1540 I know fully well it was a tribute. My comment is directed at Joe; he is not good enough on a guitar to replace Ronnie. I have seen both many times throughout the years. Ronnie’s playing was always much cleaner.

Amazing that such a "wonderful" , Theoried guitarist manages to ruin the feel of this song. He doesn't even play the rhythm part right, and his tone is all muddy and flabby on the bottom end. Pathetic. Sammy, Denny, Bill sound great however......
