There were actually four variants. The one at the end of the evening shown (I’ll nickname this “False Alarm Closedown”) shows at the end of the monty python marathon had a voiceover saying “That was the end of Monty Python, and now the BBC is shutting down forever.” and then the 2 symbol is destroyed and cuts to black screen ending the programs.

The Monty Python idents and Life of Brian were shown on my 4th birthday (I was born on the 9th of October 1995) and the mouse being squished shocked me as a little young kid.

There was actually a kitten verison of the mouse ident, were, sadly the kitten does get squshed :( (off screen mind you)

Did you know that when they remade the Dead Parrot Sketch on Python Night, they hired THE SOUTH PARK TEAM to remake the sketch but with South Park Characters, particularly, Kenny being the Dead Parrot
