To any other enthusiasts of putting things on top of other things, you may be interested in a new invention known as the "cat." The "cat," in addition to being the perfect size and shape to be placed on top of a variety of other things, will automatically place ITSELF on top of other things without any external assistance or prompting.
@bonnyhenderson77765 жыл бұрын
Very funny. Well put.
@mrcockney-nutjob38325 жыл бұрын
Sir, I must object in the strongest possible terms. After taking your advice and acquiring a "cat" although it does on a regular basis, place ITSELF on top of other things, for example chairs, tables bedding etc. It seems to like nothing more than to knock other things off. Yours faithfully. Ivor Bigbotty.
@DieFlabbergast5 жыл бұрын
I would also like to point out that Mr. Chapman's statement cannot be true: everything that he saw must, at the very least, have been on top of the Earth (more specifically the Earth's crust), unless one is to suppose that the Earth is NOT a "thing!" Personally, I cannot imagine anything more err... "thingy" than the Earth!
@gaiusmaecenas18615 жыл бұрын
Mr Bigbotty, I say, maybe you just made the unfortunate decision of acquiring the wrong model? I have been putting things on top of other things for years, and by means of pursuing this little passion of mine I have also bought a “cat”. And I really must say that it has been a tremendous success. My model does not only place ITSELF on top of other things without any assistance at all, but also puts dozens and hundreds of things (called “hairs”) on top of the things she had put herself on top of previously. I strongly recommend one of these types for future acquirements. Yours etc. etc.
@RatelHBadger5 жыл бұрын
The potential drawback of the "cat" however, is that while it likes to be put and put itself on top of other things. It also has a tendency to enjoy being IN things or under things. Which I fear is the antithesis of the whole Society.

Yes it's like real life, but the timing has to be careful, otherwise the mentioner gets ejected from the meeting and cancelled forever. The knack to getting a silly organisation to delete a project or position statement or itself is "reading the room", so as to time the proposal when most people realise it is silly but haven't dared to defy the consensus. The more annual reviews I attend on /providing trans toilets/building affordable houses/protecting vulnerable/abolishing Evil/Saving The Planet/" the more I get flashbacks to this sketch, which I first saw in my teens.

After I retired over 15 years ago I would have nightmares of being in meetings that I couldn't leave, that accomplished nothing and mostly talked about more meetings. I still have them on occasions. The worst part of all of these interminable meetings meant that I would have to work on my own time to actually accomplish the tasks assigned to me. Scream.
@markh.66873 жыл бұрын
I quit attending meetings, and was told I had to attend. So I told my boss that my attendance was completely unnecessary, since all the decisions had already been made, nobody cared what the staff told management, and I was not going to waste my life in another useless staff meeting, even though I was being paid. Since it was for a 911 Center (999 in the UK) I fully expected to be suspended. Ironically absolutely nothing happened to me, and after a few people found out what I did, they also stopped attending, and ultimately the meetings were cancelled for about 3 years(!)

Personally, I think it was a bit rash to simply decide that this whole thing is a bit silly, just because some members maybe didn't have the same sense of dedication and love of traditions as the rest of the Society For Putting Things On Top Of Other Things. But on the other hand, I understand that not everyone has the same options as their circumstances are different, and so they might face unreasonable challenges. So, what I would suggest they should've done, was simply make a merger with the Society For Putting Things Next To Each Other - that way they wouldn't have things out of order just because it's bloody difficult to put puddings on top of pyramids, or jellyfish on top of flagpoles, and thus they could've continued on for a very long time.
