I had a few concussions from playing sports, mostly ice hockey. The last one though was pretty bad and I was behaving really bizarre, literally getting into fights (physically with strangers and verbally with friends and family) or I was overly complimenting people. It was embarrassing because I'm not like that, but I'm only now thinking how it could be related.

Ex-husband kept abandoning me at the hospital and triggering my PTSD when he drove a car yet couldn’t understand why I was scared and angry. Super high achiever academically in sports had to start all over again. Literally the hardest journey of my life doing Iron Man’s was much easier before the accident .Return to Running in 2017 it saved me emotionally. I’ve been a runner since I was 12 than a triathlete gymnastics champion. Iron Man. But running after TBI is the greatest gift

This lady is NOT an expert. She has never experienced TBI. She has just memorized formal definitions and descriptions, without having an understanding of the actual experience. Let's be honest here: this is a hoax, which tries to capitalize on the misfortune of those who experienced brain injury. It's highly unethical.

I'm sorry to hear that Gil. That sounds really hard to deal with. If you haven't already, you should probably go to your doctor about this, it sounds like it could be something pretty serious. Our clinic does free consultations about post-concussion syndrome, so if you feel like your dizziness and head pain is related to a concussion or head injury you have had, I would suggest that you sign up for a free consultation with us. I dated 2 men with TBI and both were changed permanently after. 1st guy became a narc. He tried to fight it and tried bring selfless but eventually his true colors came about and had the emotional intelligence of a high school jock. I knew this man would never take responsibility for his actions, never be empathetic, and never get his shit together. 2nd guy, total opposite. I think his injury made him a total empath. He literally thinks of others before himself and so far I've known him, wouldn't dare hurt a soul. Different strokes for different folks. The mind is an extraordinary thing.

@@ishikawa1338 speaking from someone who has had a tbi from a wreck and suffers a similar experience, they were not wrong to leave the person if they kept hurting them. I have a scar on my forehead from when I was 13 years old.. I was knee’d there by someone close to me while she was intoxicated. It was an open wound and I bled everywhere.. all I remember was running away from that place and I never seeked any medical help for this or told any professional to talk about it.. I let my scar heal on it’s own and I hate how it looks.. it affects my confidence so much. I am now 31 years old.. my diagnosis were GAD and learning disability at age 20.. and now BPD at this age. I’m constantly trying to figure out what is “wrong” with me.. I also isolate myself a lot from others. Im wondering if anything has to do with that incident..: I’m now seeking a psychologist for some help.

So far since my accident. I have lost my job. I'm FURIOUS at certain family members because they're actions caused my accident and turned my life to shit. I have lost the love of my life. I'm losing myself. There are times when I'm fine, but then I get an anxiety attack or major migraine or headache and I end up so confused and angry and sad. I'm losing my mind. I feel so alone. If I was a gun owner, I probably wouldn't be here still . . .

I totally understand what u R going through I had a head injury due 2 being assaulted the doctor didn't see anything on the x ray but I know in my own heart that now I have certain mental issues due 2 that event which I never had b4 its absolutely destroying 2 my self confidence because people think I'm mad, I also lost my true love which broke me even though we still talk its heartbreaking its hard when family/ friends dont help u totally feel like everyone is against u. I have also said that same line if I had a gun I wouldn't be here. No matter how hard things get we still have 2 pick up ourselves and carrying on like everything is normal and it's not. Mental health isnt anyone's fault we weren't born with it some form of trauma causes it especially if u have been hit in the head or a accident or past events in life. It is definitely common. We have had some patients that have experienced symptoms like these for 15 years, and when they came to us for treatment finally felt like they returned back to normal. While we are not a miracle cure that can fix everyone, we have definitely helped a lot of people that have had mood disorders and other post concussion syndrome symptoms. If you feel like this is something that you want to know more about, our clinic does free consultations for anyone who is dealing with symptoms. You can follow this link to get there: www.cognitivefxusa.com/consultation-0 We also have very detailed blog talking about many other aspects of PCS (post-concussion syndrome). If you want to go through it and find more information before you do a free consultation. Here is the link to the blog post we did about mood changes: www.cognitivefxusa.com/blog/personality-changes-after-a-brain-injury-or-concussion. Do you have any specific questions?

Thanks so much for the detailed reply and the links. Really means a lot. My main questions were answered because u said it’s common for ppl like me to still experience headaches, nightmares, mood etc. As the therapists and Drs have told me, I guess I just wanted another opinion. I will definitely check out the stuff u told me about, I’m from Canada so that may be issue? But I’m sure it will say that in the links u sent me. Thanks again and thanks for what u do.

Of course! We are here to help. Covid has prevented us from seeing most of the Canadian patients that have shown interest due to travel restrictions, but since the vaccine is starting to roll out we anticipate those restrictions will start being let up soon! We're hoping that by June of 2021 we will be fully back to normal receiving patients from everywhere again! Our doctors and logistics people can give you more answers if you sign up for that consultation, they are the ones with the most accurate information about that.
