Fun demo. You truly went sci-fi with this and I love it. The Matriarch is a fascinating synth, definitely one of Moogs greatest hits.

Finally, a demo of far out space sounds on the Matriarch. Ordered one from Guitar Center. Will play beautifully with my Moog Sub 37. Thanks.

Ah yes, definitely the best demo of the Matriarch. And with NO patching! Amazing. I'm in the process of ordering one. Anyhow, thanx for the great demo. Sounds beautiful!

Nice sounds, Brian, that delay is heavenly. You have the beginnings of a retro Sci-Fi soundtrack here. :)

I think this may be the best sounding synth Moog makes at the moment - including the Moog one. All the effects and fully articulated polyphony in the One don't seem to be able to capture the character or ambience of the Matriarch.
@christopherpederson10215 жыл бұрын
Probably one of the best synths ever in my opinion. The delay is crazy
@SPAZZOID1005 жыл бұрын
Riachard Nixon Nope. For raw tone, the Matriarch kills the One.
@HotStrange4 жыл бұрын
I agree. And the multi trig option on the Matriarch allows for full articulation of the envelopes for each note so it can sound somewhat close to teal polyphony at times.

Fantastic!, I regret selling my voyager a little less knowing this is for sale in the uk soon, I’d like a Moog One as well. Such a fantastic company, they seem to get more innovative every time something new is released.

Hi Rob, I'm in UK ( Lancashire) and selling Moog One 16v for the price of an 8 voice if you're interested ?

Celtic Progeny hi, is it a faulty one?

@@Robguitarjarvis No it's perfect. I've over stretched financially and I'm selling off some of the hardware.

Celtic Progeny if it’s still for sale when I’ve sold my house( soon I hope) I’ll come and try it, I cycled to Lancashire from West Yorkshire 3 times last summer and had a puncture in Oldham on the hottest day of the year, pushed it back 24 miles. Anyway I’ll let you know when I’ve sold it, and if it’s still there I’m interested

@@Robguitarjarvis It's my largest synth but not large enough to live in :) If I've still got it then you're more than welcome to try it.

This was great. Thank you for posting it. Would be amazing for any future videos you can show us how to make certain patches. No worries if you can't. Just a thought.

I kind of play by the seat of my pants and don’t write anything down, so I don’t really have anything to offer. (Same with my Model D and Grandmother.) But if I ever do come up with something really special, I’ll do my best to put it out here. Thanks for watching!

Good Day. I was wondering what benefits you get having Martiarch and Grandmother. Are they connected ? I own Martiarch only but see many have both. Thanks.
@GetsemaniMusic9 ай бұрын
Good question! They are definitely two different beasts, but they do complement each other nicely. The GM is a monosynth with built in spring reverb. The Matriarch is paraphonic with stereo delay built in. Both have similar sequencers and arpeggiating capabilities. They both have numerous patch point and can be connected together or with other semimodular devices to create a plethora of different sounds and effects. The possibilities are endless. I don’t regret having purchased both (to join my other Moog’s: DFAM, Subharmonicon, Mother 32, Voyager, Model D, and One!)

How has the reliability been on this? I read somewhere that the power supplies fail and the build quality isn't that great.

We’ve never had any issues with ours and have been completely satisfied. You might want to check with others in the Matriarch groups on Facebook or other Moog forums, but be sure you’re talking to actual owners.

Hello Getsemani music! I just subscribed, very good videos! Query: Moog Matriarch covers all the utilities and uses that the moog sub 25 can provide? Especially deep basses and leads. Thanks a lot.
@GetsemaniMusic4 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert on the Sub 25/37 series as I've never had one in my studio, but its my understanding that they are good mono synths,, sonically similar to the Model D and Voyager which makes them ideal for bass and leads. The Matriarch on the other hand is a 4 voice paraphonic semi-modular synth designed around complex modulation and its stereo delay which makes it a bit more difficult to master. The Matriarch is quite capable of reaching deep basses and leads, but if that is your primary use, it may not be the best synth for you. I'd check out additional Matriarch videos and look into some of the Facebook groups or other forums specific to the Sub 25/37 and Matriarch to get more detailed information based on your specific usage and workflow, genre, etc. My go-to Moog for leads is still my Voyager. Thanks for subscribing!
