personally i did try not to convert myr to usd , and just straight buy the US ETF , moomoo will use margin to buy ETF , now your account is pending -balance xxx USD to settle , option 1 see how much you are pending , you may convert the exactly amount , option 2 you just leave it there moomoo will auto convert your MYR into USD tomorrow after 9AM in malaysia , i dont see moomoo charge me any interest , the only difference is , option 1 u convert now and u can know the rate for today , option 2 auto convert tomorrow , the rate will follow tomorrow rate , i personaly look for this answer but nobody can answer the correct answer , so i test it myself

if you have MYR , and buy US stock, yes it will auto convert next day or so.. But if you only holding USD and buying My stock, it will not autoconvert to myr and will charge interest on daily basis until you replenish the myr balance

I also tried to buy US stocks without manually converting MYR to USD. It just did the auto conversion based on next day's rate. I did not notice any other extra charge such as margin interest fee as mentioned in this video. Anyone else can confirm this?

Hi Khairun, for moomoo MY can just fund with malaysian bank accounts - as they only accept MYR at the moment. For other brokers like IBKR, I use Wise to transfer MYR into them and convert to USD ;) To answer your question - i never tried FCAs before as their conversion rates are typically subpar which means you are paying too much fees

Hi brother, usually i'd recommend to convert to USD cash first before trading US stocks. As for your question, i cant answer 100% because im not quite sure of their conversion mechanics - as far as im aware of, they will use margin (settled in MYR) to allow you to trade US stocks if you are low in USD cash. But from one of the viewers' comment above, he mentioned that as long as got enough MYR cash then wont kena the margin interest fee... hmmm

Hi there, do you mean TO = Trigger Order? If i understand your question correctly, you can set you BUY/SELL order (Limit Order type + Day or GTC) even before the market opens (but preferably do during pre-market hours) - tho they tend to reject orders placed during non-trading hours for some reason

hi sophia! in terms of absolute fees - ibkr would be cheaper because there's no malaysian stamp duty (RM1/RM1000 trade value) involved, but that comes at a cost of not having a license in Malaysia which some may not find comfortable with. stashaway - robos in general are expensive, but still workable, just that its better to DIY and go cheaper with brokers

Hello~ Investing in ETF or stocks are the same, just have to look up for them using their ticker symbol, for example VOO for Vanguard's S&P 500 ETF - the same applies for all broker! As for moomoo comparison versus IBKR, i have a video on that coming up very soon (am editing it now!)

Hi @ziet … When I used IBKR, I had a restriction for Pattern Day Trader …which restricts how many times I can trade in 5 days window.. Does Moomo do the same thing ? I didn’t find any info on the FAQ section

Hi loggan, yes, Moomoo also has the PDT rule, just like IBKR. This means if you make 4 or more day trades in 5 business days with a margin account, your account may be flagged as a PDT, which will require you to maintain a minimum equity of USD 25k. Hope this helps!

Hi Ziet, is the trailing stop the same as the trailing stop MKT? The reason for asking is I have Moo Moo on my phone and my Mac. on the phone it has trailing stop on the Mac it's trailing stop mkt. your response would be highly appreciated.

Yes, a trailing stop and trailing stop market (MKT) are similar. The trailing stop sets a moving trigger price based on a percentage or dollar amount, while a trailing stop MKT converts to a market order once that price is hit. It sounds like the Moomoo Mac version might only show the market option.

Hmmm i disagree, 2 of my friends + our telegram community members + myself averaged our conversions around ~0.5% which is very solid. (FYI usually the conversion rate is better during business hours, try not to convert during weekends) GX Bank - actually it is just bank online transfer from ANY bank, so even if its GX Bank or CIMB or MBB etc. also will work, there is no need to choose any funding bank

Hi arif, DCA is actually an investment strategy of investing consistently in a fixed dollar amount at a set interval (e.g. invest RM 1000 every month) - this can be done with any broker, even with moomoo or interactive brokers etc. Do remember to do enough due diligence and research before investing your hard earned money yeah ;)

i think you are seeing the USD equivalent? If you funded MYR, and you are seeing USD equivalent, it just means your MYR cash have weakened to USD over the course of time Can always switch to view MYR equivalent :) Hope this helps!

In fact today i received legal threat on my brokerage videos because some other brokers are butt hurt for losing market share. So does that mean there will be more people paid to purposely spread negative propaganda?🤪 So to that, i’d say, let more people see this comment and judge for themselves - while im not saying their product is flawless, its very well above average and is improving very quickly😊
