@BrentInvesting5 жыл бұрын
@@maxwelljohnson5221 That would be a lot of work, and each pie can only hold 100 stocks or 1%, so you could create 11 sectors each with diff %'s per sector, then combine them under an S&P 500 pie that would have 0% Expense. I think in that case it would just be easier to manage, invest using the ETF. .03% isn't too bad.

Hey Graham, good info. One hidden fee you didn't mention on the "free" apps is the order execution quality. The biggest way companies like Robinhood make money is by (basically) selling your orders to high frequency traders who can front run the trades. Each trade ends up with a worse fill on the price by a few cents. If someone is investing with only a few hundred dollars, that is still a good deal. But once someone is investing with more than a few thousand dollars, they will end up paying much more than $4.95 per trade in poor execution. Instead, they will save money overall if they invest somewhere like Fidelity which does not sell orders. The quality of order execution will save the investor much more than the $4.95 they charge.

I just started an M1 Finance account this weekend. I am so pumped. I have 3 pies with 1 being High Yield (20 stocks), 1 being Large Cap Growth Dividend stocks (21 stocks), and last being Growth Only stocks (2 stocks). I am so excited about it because its like I basically get to make my own indexs and decide how much of everything I want. I just invest and let it grow its self, I can adjust later for losing and winning, or winners. At first I thought maybe it would be to advanced but I think it just the opposite as it tells you where you would be now if you invested in that pie 5 years ago, as well as grows or shrikes pies and their slices based on growth. I love visual stuff and this seems to be just what I like. Plus the fractionals makes it a massive win, as it lets me invest what I can, but still diversify, and being new I don't want to just buy only half a dozen cheaper stocks to lose 1 or 2. If I lose 1 slice of my pie, its like 2% of my overall fund. I am still up in the air about robinhood (have investments there too) and webull. I feel like webull is probably better, especially the web app, its so much easier and informative. I love that it has a screener. If Robinhoob would just release fractionals and the 1.8% yielding debit card, I would put all my money there and transfer to M1 Finance for my longterm/custom funds.

I split the membership with my sister so it only costs me $30 a year. In California Costco gas is consistently 25 cents cheaper than anyone else. I save about $30 a month just in Costco gas alone. I drive a lot though

Erik Throne the reason why I recommended Lumentrades is that one thing every investor is looking for isn’t necessary low fees or sophisticated tools but peace of mind. I migrated from RH to Lumentrades and it’s the best decision I ever made. From low fees to their customer support which I didn’t get from RH, I think anyone would be happy and satisfied using them as their main brokerage. Are you just starting out in this?

And I'm saving money to start a dropshiping business and invest the money I will be making with that. Thanks a lot of your awesome videos.

Is this info up to date? Does robinhood now offer automatic dividend reinvestment and fractional shares?
@sourdoughsavant224 жыл бұрын
Robinhood does now, but you have to be put on a waitlist. I don't remember how long I waited, but they don't give a timeline. And you have to have fractional shares to start dividend reinvestment
@nosbig64624 жыл бұрын
@@sourdoughsavant22 Really? i got fractional shares and drip when signed up like a month ago.
@sourdoughsavant224 жыл бұрын
@@nosbig6462 hmm. Maybe they automatically do it for new people then. I got my account a couple years back, and fractional in last few months, but my boyfriend put himself on the waitlist a month ago. Not sure if he has it yet.

Robinhood does charge a small fee. It’s on my trade confirmations and statements. Not sure what the fees are for. It’s not interest on a margin account, I’m not setup with a margin account.

I started off with Stash 3 years ago when i knew nothing on investing and it was the first app that popped up. I have robinhood but my favorite one is M1 because it forces me to invest in a pie (like an etf) rather than one single stock.
@Mistyfgdf4 жыл бұрын
How bad is investing in a single stock? If you had a bit common sense it would be a VTI or a SPHD stock for example, still extremely diversified
@rv30894 жыл бұрын
Misty Diablo Nothing wrong with investing in a single stock 😮 I like investing in ETFs and occasionally I put in good sum of money into single stocks that so i’m actually modifying my “etfs”.
