this is the coolest thing i've ever seen someone making in ksp. this and the space trucks, of course. the problem with gas powered rovers is oxidiser. you'd need a lot of oxidiser to keep that thing running, to the point that making it battery powered and letting it charge once the batteries run out would be way more feasible. you could just have 2 or more of them, so that once one needs to charge, the other one stops charging and takes its place and so on. besides, fuel production on the moon is very hard and advanced, so if it were gas powered you'd need to ship the fuel to the moon, which would be very expensive

They would more then likely be nuclear in some way. solar panels would prove useless in a dusty work environment. not to mention the long nights. 😊

You could always power the fuel cell off of the excess fuel in the lander. IIRC that's what Toyota and JAXA are planning to do with their Lunar Cruiser.

I'm currently loving the idea of a "gas powered" rover. I've been building race cars for the past month now and compared to slapping a lot of batteries and/or solar panels, APUs are just a lot more compact and simpler. But I must say, balancing them is a bit of a hassle, but if you've worked with Planes and SSTOs before it's a lot easier to understand.

You can also connect brake lights to the brake button via action groups. The result is pretty cool, I used it for my Duna crane when towing station modules

Are those colorable Robotic parts?? What mod are you using for that?? I have quite a few walking machines and other stuff that have a ton of robotic parts, but i cant seem to color them with TURD or Re-Color. I just got ksp back after my pc died. And im finally going to start posting Kerbal videos again. I built santa's sleigh and reindeer recently and just posted a short. I'd really like your feedback if it's possible. In KSP you can use Fuel Cells like the ones in the space shuttle to generate electricity. Fuel cells in game use Liquid fuel and oxidizer. So as long as the craft has fuel it has electricity. In reality, the vehicle would probably be Nuclear in some way.
