We have had shocking gore filled superhero shows. Shows that have cosmic themes, etc. Shows with easter eggs all over the place but Moon Knight is something different and refreshing at the same time. Its pulling the viewer in the story.

I love how Harrow has such a soft voice. How that plays into the idea that he's a therapist. A lot of his sentences have SUCH a different meaning now. I love it!

@@abhirupbanerjee001 oh, I don't for one second believe he is who he says he is. But it would make sense that a doctor for the mentally ill would be soft-spoken. It's a great way to play up the idea he's legitimately there to help Marc/Steven.

I adore watching your reactions. Especially this episode of 'Moon Knight.' Others I have watched reacting have been lost and even been angry because they don't know the comics. Being in the medical field, I love the take on how does one dealing with DID would look/feel like combining it with Marc’s story as Moon Knight. I never would’ve thought that Egyptian lore would mix so well with someone having this type of condition which is indeed fascinating.. 🐪 I still remember when they first announced this series I was so excited, little did I know abt Moon Knight apart from him being a badass. For me it’s always interesting how comics include stuffs like mental health. It’s a great way to address the public that this happens in real life and there are people dealing with these situations everyday. Big big ups to their production and especially Oscar Isaac, he is just phenomenal. Sorry Marc but I love Steven more lol. 🌙

MK in the last few years has done a great job at making mental health a focus, other than the typical “he’s just crazy” stigma. The current Jed McKay series has a good mix of badassery and mental health awareness

So far, no one has caught that Harrow's office was the warehouse room in Harrow's London compound when Steve and Layla were fleeing with the scarab and the jackal busts through the door with Steve going "jackal! jackal!" and Layla going "what jackal?" before he gets knocked out of the window and turns into Mr. Knight when he lands.

ABSOLUTE MAD LADS DOING THE LEMIRE ALLUSION. Probably one of the biggest risks the MCU has ever taken and I greatly applaud them for it. I’ve been absolutely loving this series so far, I really hope these last two episodes hit the landing

Great reaction as always guys. This episode was so good. The hippo goddess at the end was Taweret. She is the Egyptian goddess of child-rearing and reproduction. In mythology she has the power of rejuvenation. She was thought to bless people with births. She could also bring people back from the dead or cleanse their spirit before it went on to the afterlife. I believe she's going to bring Marc/Steven back to life and maybe help them release Konshu. I think the mental institute scene is in his head and may have been caused by Taweret's intervention. Next week's episode is supposed to be crazy. I can't wait to see what happens. Take care.

@@77SBCR Good point. The lights were definitely swaying like he was on a boat. That makes a lot of sense. He could be in some sort of purgatory representing his sub conscious on an Egyptian afterlife boat. Probably triggered by Taweret's intervention some how.

The mental institution is Marc's mind, which is how and why he and Steven were able to physically interact with each other. Everything that is in the mental institution is a connection to Marc's mind and also even some elements of the things Steven thinks too.

You guys' reactions have been the best to this series. So knowledgeable about the comics and so engaged with this show. I'm glad to see they're adapting at least some visual elements of Lemire, although they're going a super different route. I think this is probably Marc's journey to the afterlife, and he's on a "boat" of some sort headed that way. You can see the lights swaying in the hallway and hear the creak of a large ship. Taweret (the hippo god) is probably gonna guide him through whatever is happening here and end up rejuvenating him. This was the best episode so far for me.

I like the idea of the boat, there was a trailer which hinted at Ras funerary barge so you could be onto something. The visual aesthetic of Lemire & Smallwoods run has been great even if they deviate significantly the themes are there. It’s all about Marc trying to work with his identities and becoming “whole” to break the chaos

This episode was insane! They totally stepped up their game with using the comic route at the end!! Also yes they teased Jake Lockley and actually showed him!! When Steven has to get Amett’s Statue from Alexander The Great… they show Jake’s reflection in the sarcophagus… Ps. Awesome reaction guys!!

In the comics they have Anubis in a similar role to the ferryman taking peoples souls to the afterlife, there is also a funerary boat of ra which could have some role from a previous trailer

I think they'll go the Lemire way for the rest of the episodes, at least for the Marc system character(s) arc and its conclusion. They'll have to work together to win at the end. Which aligns perfectly with something you said in an earlier reaction of the show. I'd see them even reusing a form of "We are Moon Knight and we don't need you". Marc'system's hero arc isn't to become the Moon Knight and learning how to use their new powers, but their system learning to work with each other and accept themselves. This is a weird version of the found family trope. I'm 90% sure they're in their mindspace (the place where people with DID can see/interact with each of their alters like that). They might be trapped in their mindspace and have to find a way to get out back into reality. I'm also pretty sure something or something (supernatural probably) is keeping them trapped in there. Maybe a result of them almost dying again and also the (good?bad?) meddling of one of the gods (taking Khonshu's place in this version). The godess Taweret is, a quick Google search said she was the goddess of birth/life/rebirth(?) so she'll definitely be important in helping them. Now Jake we know where he is. Can we have him right at the beginning of episode 5 please ? Pretty please! I think they could go really all over the place with the next two episode. We'll get into a hell of a ride I'm sure. Me wanting more Moon Knight scenes : Marc or all of them will probably even have to fight the representation of the Moon Knight like in the Lemire run. I'm glad they showed us already (big) hints that Marc wasn't actually I an asylum at the end. I didn't want the episode to leave some thinking that he was really in an asylum and that 'it was all a dream'

The ending feels like a slip in the cracks of whatever is going on in Marcs mind. I do wonder what Tawaret's role will be and how this ending has come to be. MK vol 8 starts off in the ward in a similar fashion

You have the benefit of reading the comics, which is something I certainly do not have. But as someone who didn't read the comics I interpreted the last couple of minutes as Marc's going through the throes of death and his mind falling apart, again. I say again, because this must have happened to him before--he explained to Layla that he didn't tell her about his DID because he had it under control until recently. I think when he died the first time that what ever mental blocks he learned collapsed the when he first went through the throes of death. Khonshu saved his life, but the mental blocks he put in place before weren't put back in place. Marc's union with Khonshu strengthened Marc's personas, giving them power over him. Now that Marc is going through the throes of death again, his personas are going through it with him as individuals of the same shared experience. Taweret that hippo looking god is probably there to resurrect Marc, she's a god of protection, childbirth, but also rebirth. Marc has been broken since his union with Khonshu, and we've seen that with his inner battles with Steven and Jake (though not mentioned). Taweret, is likely going to make Marc whole and bring him back. Next week and the week after should be really exciting!
