Looking good Skip. I've been making some similar parts for Howard G4CCH for an azimuth slew drive on his 5.6 metre dish. neiAll seems to be working well, perhaps you'll work him on 23cm. I'm setting up a solid 3 metre prime focus dish for the higher bands and a 2.4 offset for 24 GHz. Might try the 3m on 23cm, but it's really intended for 13, 9, 6 and 3cm. Neil G4DBN

WOW! You are a serious amateur radio guy, or now are you a serious astronomer? What electronics do you use to detect the bounce back? Is it about 2.5 seconds there and back? or one way?

Hello David, well so far I am just a ham radio operator.. I plan on trying to detect pulsars etc later on.. The typical setup we use for getting echos back or talking to other ham operators varies depending on the person and size of dish or ant. Recieving the signal back you need a very good high gain low noise preamp at the dish.. For 23cm or 1296 mhz I showed on there it then goes to a transvertor then to the radio.. The signal takes around 3 seconds there and back, but I use a sequencer to switch things between recieve and transmit so it can cut the time I can hear the last part of the echo.. It's one of my best thrill hearing echos.. Skip

@@VE6BGT Thanks. Looks like you have the land for it. Years ago, I made a 5ft tall Yagi to listen to "big bang hiss". I aimed it at the center of our galaxy and the hiss got louder. Woop woop! I had an old C band satellite dish in the back yard, 7 ft, maybe. It blew over 2 months ago. My wife was thrilled! Hobbies are woodworking, electronics, gold prospecting, car repair, movie making, laser art. Home owner, so everything breaks, needs repair. I retired from intel. I wish I had a radar system!
