@Moonfleet416 жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, hat a wonderful bike the DuoGlide, but this is the wrong bike for that style, wide slim forks, tall skinny wheel on the front, ducktail fender, I guess all of which could be changed but, of course, I should have ust bought the right bike and save the money, maybe something like a FatBoy or Deluxe, but one thing that can't be changed is the extra rake on the forks.. the Dyna Wide Glide has a different frame and wouldn't lend itself to an FL style... going for modern, sleek look, something a little bit more street than it is! Thanks for watching...

Hi Robert, basically explained, and probably over simplified, but the Celts were the ancient tribal peoples of the British Isles, before the division in to kingdoms, they were displaced by the Romans and after that, the Vikings, and then the Normans, leading to the society we are today... and the word today is given to any iconography that paradies the style, and decoration, of those tribal people from a time before religion.

Hi Gary, I have indeed kept hold of the large crucifix on the front face of the battery crate and a few of the other icons, and they may well accompany me on future rides... we do have those kind of groups here, we have the CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association), they ride with a large white cross back patch and ride out for Sunday prayer meets... have met many of them on my biker travels over the years, and always found them to be wonderful people...!

Hi buddy, the Harley's have a steel mud guard and the bracket that bridges fork to fork is 3mm thick steel, so that does a fair bit of bracing, but it's a 2.5" wide wheel so it's never gonna handle no matter what you do... I'm drawing a line between a clumsy looking item and practical handling, if I do ride with a brace later on, then will make my own and make it a lot less obstrusive, thanks for your input buddy...

One Bike Man I’m sure by the time Del’s taken off all the talismans the Hog will weigh about as much as a RG250 Gamma 🤣

RE, the Sat Nav connection, i do similar but fit a connector to the GPS power lead that will plug into the Optimate/Acumate/whatever lead. (Was about a quid from Maplins) Its easy, and you can disconnect the GPS completley if required by just unplugging it.

You could use a thin fishing line to remove the tags and maybe the silicone. Are the tags that are maybe from lead available?

Hi George, I think they were lead or pewter, great top with the fishing line, thanks! They have all, sadly, now found a home now I'm afraid, so I can't send any to you... it seems they were quite popular!

I didn’t know you could get so many trinkets for a Harley, much better without them tho buddy, great vid as always, regards Stu 👍

Thanks Stu, it's endless mate, but also this bike to this couple was a journey for them and they collected keepsakes along the way and treated themselves to parts!... now time for sleek, modern look! Hope the family are all well, D&Px

And so it begins! Tucking into my dinner and watching this, lovely. You should send the keepsakes back to the Chap if you still have his address, I'm sure he'd appreciate it; I know I would. (Only 6 minutes into the video so forgive me if you've mentioned this).

Thank you buddy... the keepsakes will be going to new homes, like the bike did... we think after meeting the wonderful couple that owned the bike, that they needed a clean break from the bike, as they were sad to see it go... they told us to take the bike and enjoy our journey with it... and some of the pieces off the bike will go to new homes and also start a new journey, making memories for new people! Glad you're enjoying the video, more to come!

I like her! Heard a lot about new fabrication at the end ... worried it will be almost another fighter build in scope & duration ... and there will be too little time out on the road!!
