The Banjo player is Schmootzi the Clod. He is a spectacular mutant genius. I don't know the present status of Moonpenny Opera, but two of them are still playing with Circus Contraption. Schmootzi sings lead on quite a few Contraption songs. 5000. - N.

I just heard this for the first time. I love finding more vids of Drew. I've been trying to find his entire discography, so far I've found (what I think is all of the music by) Rubber Chicken Lollipop, Circus Contraption, God's favourite beefcake, and now I'm finding a few vids of Moonpenny Opera. I'm getting there!

Ah, the ignorant swine of Pike Place Market, this time ignoring the best old-time trios on the West Coast absolutely nailing a fantastic song. I love you, Moonpenny Opera.

You should check out his (new?) project "MOMMY" on myspace. There's a beautiful acoustic guitar song called "Isabella". ANNNNNND! I just found footage of "sweet sixteen, never been laid" - didn't even know I had it (and for the record, I think I was wrong about who said it) I'll upload the other videos I have, even the short clips.

Isabella is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I would think of that musical project as being called "God's Favorite Beefcake. godsfavoritebeefcake.bandcamp.com/

They were fucking fantastic, I couldn't believe it. The greatest moment that day was when a girl whose birthday it was (just turned 16) went up to get a picture with them, and the banjo player (can't remember his name ofcourse) yells out "sweet sixteen! never been laid!" which was probably 100% false. I'm headed to Seattle this summer hopefully - are they still performing together? I know they all have a ton of side projects, but I have no clue as to the cohesive status of M.P. Any insight?
