I try to be as detailed as possible so there is no guess work. I just try to put myself in the viewers eye. What would I want to see/learn but keep in simple. Thank you for your support!

Cool video, always good for those wanting to visit Catalina. Just FYI, Avalon does have mooring pickup sticks as you called them, only not at the dinghy dock side. Also at Avalon you need to approach a patrol boat to pay for the mooring in advance and they will assign the number to use.
@TheOceansideGuy2 ай бұрын
Ya, we go to the left of the dock to moor up. So I have not seen any "pick up poles/sticks"

Thank you. When I first had to tie up to a mooring, I had no idea. It was then I knew I needed to make a video.

@TheOceansideGuy yes just got one last weekend. 2024 gti se 170 loving it so far. I'm from Kelowna B.C. in canada. We are surrounded by lakes here and our summers are scorching hot so our waters are nice and warm. Hoping to drive down south one day and ride to Catalina looks fun and breathtaking

At 2 harbors you can either beach it or drop a bag anchor and tie off. No need to pay for a mooring ball.

Thanks for the tip

From someone who rides only in Canada , why don’t you use the side attachment on the ski why the front one ? Would it really offset the line that much ?
@TheOceansideGuy2 ай бұрын
Great question. It puts too much pressure with the swell/ current. And with a rising tide it could pull the ski under if you were to clip to the side of the ski. The bow eyelet is designed for, anchoring and towing a ski. The bow eyelet is strong enough for those purposes. And you might have seen when the sand line is attached to the bow eyelet. It runs through smoothly, even if there is a carabiner attached. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question.

How do you keep the Jet skis from bumping into each other when tied to the same rope?
@TheOceansideGuy2 ай бұрын
The harbor is really calm. So no worries. If they were side by side we would put the sea-doo bumpers on.

Hi Deric, like the video good job, are you going or thinking about putting a Bilge Pump in your Sea-Doo that's something I'm thinking about doing to my Sea-Doo let me know and if you do are you going to video it thank you God bless bro.

Sooooo. Do you swim to shore?
@TheOceansideGuy2 ай бұрын
Yes
@MrRay38012 ай бұрын
Seems like people would be sucking up the mooring lines into their jetskis all the time. How deep is the water there? Seems like it would not be ideal to have to swim to shore all the time.
@TheOceansideGuy2 ай бұрын
Not an issue sucking up the lines. The water in that spot was about 6ft.
