The old ones definitely were heavily modified. Because it was tough to get a 12 second car stock in the old ones . I love the old cars too, but if the old ones were stock,it would have been the other way around for sure !

Michael Pincavitch, well how about match part for part and let see what happens , old would win easy.

Thanks, I'm from Conn, it's a 2 hr drive, The problem with test & tune on wed & fri nights is that the camera(s) don't focus very well on the digital times at the end track....at night. I tried it with different cameras and by time it focuses the time is removed/gone.

Wrong. Modern cars have a huge advantage in torque delivery. Camaro ZL1 will SMOKE any of its children
@musclebone78756 жыл бұрын
Fred Garvin wrong! My natural aspirated engine makes 600 foot pound of torque. The new ZL1 has a supercharged LT4 making 650tq. So new cars make huge torque only with blowers and turbos.

Old school was Man and machine were in tune with each other. Getting the most from your machine with your own engineering. Today's machines are only within reach of the wealthy and all the engineering has been done by college boy's who never got their hands dirty. Looks to me like Old School just taught new School a lesson. Hell I guarantee you put a supercharger and slicks on a 1970 real hemi cuda, it will embarrass a hellcat.

Are there any half quiet nights at E-Town Raceway anymore? Would be nice to do some test and tune. It's been many years since I have raced there but, I'm ready to get back into it. My car should run mid to low 13's if luck is on my side. Trouble is, that place has become so popular I would be lucky to get off 2 passes. Back in the day I could get 10+ passes on a real street/bikes/high school bracket racing Saturday night.
