This is incredibly valuable to show my parents who have never been to a frum wedding before! Toda!
Sephardim and Ashkenasim have different customs. and among sephardim there are different customs. For example, my son in law is sephardi: no yichud room. But they were together under the chuppah under his talis for a yichud. many other differences as well.

Yes this is an Orthodox wedding. As usual those in the know can tell what type by how the guys dress. This one is easy. The lack of jackets by any of the guests or even the groom, makes it Israeli religious Zionists.

What is the significance of the number 7 used in Jewish weddings? Does it mean completion or something else?
@PrincessSixThirteen3 жыл бұрын
7 is an important number in Judaism. 7 can mean completion, also the natural order of things, the seven years Jacob worked for Rachel, etc.

The translations of the blessings are not very accurate: "הרי את מקודשת לי בטבעת זו כדת משה וישראל" "Behold you are sacred to me by this ring according to the religion\ law of Moses and Israel" (as in the nation of Israel, AKA the jewish people. not the state of Israel) "אם אשכחך ירושלים תשכח ימיני, תדבק לשוני לחיכי אם לא אזכרי, אם לא אעלה את ירושלים על ראש שמחתי" "If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right (hand) forget (its power). Let my tongue cleave to my palate if I don't remember you, if I won't set Jerusalem above my greatest joy"
