Those drums are so fucking good. The groove is there, the technique, whew. The chorus pattern is instantly memorable. One of those songs i will listen to on loop. I love the lyrical idea of old gods becoming forgotten and returning to destroy the society that abandoned them.

In this one I think Tim's drumming brings in a new edge to their grooviness.. like the breakdowns Morbid Angel had in the past were phenomenal.. phenomenological more likely.. very unique. I like the mixing of their old sound with a modern sensibility. Seems like modern in the sense of the 1890s - 1920s vibes. Like if beats could be Art Deco.. anyhow, Mr. Yeung is killin it.

Maybe I'm weird but this album is very solid, just production is not doing it for me. The way how drums are mixed and how lows are sounding on guitars feels to artificial. I prefer their meaty old school sound but compositions themselves are good.
