I just had a really shitty day today and dealing with a lot of stuff because of it. You, don't know how much it means to me to have you release this video today. That and no less its about Mordheim. No matter how much I get burnt out or pushed away from the miniature hobby, because of you I have an inescapable dream of crafting my own massive miniature Mordheim city.

These tables are incredible, as a 30k player who usually enjoys massive armies, I really dig how dense these urban layouts are that would simply be unfeasible for 30k. Might have to make a little warband for this game.

This is the great trade off between platoon & or army games versus skirmish games. The barrier to entry is often so low a few miniatures or maybe a dozen that leaves so much time and creative passion free to give over to your to terrain, themes & holistic integration of these ideas. Usually only the the most dedicated or affluent can afford for these additional commitments if you first have to plan out dozens & dozens of miniatures that need assemble & paint plus need the real-estate on matching terrain to be deployed appropriately. I'm a visual person & I get a good chunk of praise for having great looking tables at (multi system) events because I drifted away from 40k (the big miniatures really lost me I.E. Wraith Knights etc) back around 2008 & changed to Infinity the Game so I was able to practice & implement exactly what I've spoken to. 🤟

Amazing video & just bloody brilliant work of everyone there. Seeing how GW is going back to the old world, it would be nice if they could just reprint a bunch of the Mordheim stuff too, even if they just reprinted the book with an updated guide on proxy minis of new minis to switch out there'd be a ton of new people playing. GW should know by now that it's easy to support the skirmish games of their larger army games as the skirmish games (Mordheim, Warcry, Necromunda, Warhammer Underworlds and Blood Bowl) are more easy to get new people in the hobby.

I'm a big proponent of magnetizing miniatures for travel purposes. When magnetizing my bases I put a sheet of parchment paper between the magnet and metal to ensure nothing gets glued to something I don't want it to. I prefer hot glue but so far its a personal choice.

Under the Dice Fest is my destination goal for next year. This vid lights some fire under by near-atrophied behind. I'm working on this 'fabled bone-lined catacombs below ruined cathedral' build. My hospitaller nun warband is sure that it's no myth, and Sister Margharette insists that the entrance is first obscured by magick and then locked by some blasphemous contraption. What could even be worth hiding down there that warrants such lengths of secrecy? No, I'm really asking. I actually have no clue, tbh. I figure everything out as I go.

As you saw, Mordheim is alive and well. Just not (currently) supported by GeeDubs, which IMO is a good thing. The community is actually better at the whole rules thing anyway. Mordheim came out at a time when GW actually cared about the hobby, both the gaming side and the miniature side, back when they encouraged kitbashing and people expressing their creativity and not just coming up with schemes on how to sell the greatest amount of plastic crack to people. (Also selling books that are more or less obselite at the time they are released, which are mostly copy/pasted from the previous version as well.)
@JohnPC00
@JohnPC00 Ай бұрын
@@Cr0wsMurd3r Dead in the sense that it's not officially supported. I would be happy with an adventure skirmish game that isn't strictly tied to Mordheim, but could still take place there in certain missions/narrative campaigns. That way any faction can be included.

I think, for me, the main drive for Necroheim is that it's, really, just a couple mindsets away from being a full-blown tabletop roleplay game. My biggest gripe with the various flagship games maintained by GW at the moment is how narrative-first players like me feel more or less forgotten by both designers and modern player base.

A few years ago, your videos inspired me to start building Mordheim boards (3'x3') and now I have a collection of Mordheim boards that barely see any use. From ruined churches, aqua-duct vertical designs, subterranean Skaven lairs, ruined residential districts, riverside docks, I've incorporated lighting techniques for street lamps and glowing wyrdstone shards... and now you go and release this video? Showcasing so many terrain pieces and warbands and a surprisingly vibrant community of grimdark enthusiasts... I'm gonna need better storage solutions for all the boards your forcing me to build. Might have to sell the wife to make room for more hobbying. I see no other options.

Lovely video! Question, which grades of warbands were allowed at the event. I love the more specific flavor of several "lower grade" warbands, but they also make me feel like I would be bringing homebrewed bands instead of the official and tested ones.
