It has been over 20 years since I wrote Mordheim (with help from my friends and peers, Alessio, Rick and Gav), and descended into darkness to create the atmosphere with the legendary John Blanche and the all-star art team from Karl Kopinski to John Wigley and Dave Gallagher. To see how the game still inspires people this much after all this time is the reason why I became a game designer. This is what I wanted to see -the same excitement D&D red box and other classic fantasy games gave me when I was a youngling. Awesome video!

One of the best things about Mordheim, aside from the tremendous crafting potential, was how you didn't need to sell any major organs/extremities to have a fine warband. The smaller skirmish size was a big part of what made Mordheim my favorite tabletop game

As someone fairly new to the hobby (around 2018 I believe) seeing stuff like this saddens me that I missed out on so much, but makes me want to create something like this for my play group! My focus has definitely been on 40k, but once I learned of necromunda I dove down that rabbit hole. The more I learn of the old world and mordheim I really want to recreate the world and try to get my friends to join me. And between scratch built stuff, 3d printers, and other miniature companies I may actually be able to do just that

@warrenarmstrong21542 жыл бұрын
You’re taking on a lot of huge projects at the moment. Careful not to get burned out, especially with the amount of detail you put into everything.
When I first found out about Mordheim I was absolutely enthralled by the Skaven! Partially because it was my first glimpse into a world, changing the ways of an awkward nerdy kid turned extremely nerdy adult, who at the time (and still do) loved books which featured animals with human like appearances. The Rats of NIMH and the Redwall series are still some of my most adored books! Although since having played Mordheim as a nerdy kid to a (somewhat) fully grown adult I’ve been accustomed to the plights of Men and Chaos so my other Warbands included are the Witch Hunters, Possessed, Beastmen and my ALL TIME FAVORITE…. Orcs and da stunty gobbos 🎃
@EricsHobbyWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
I loved Redwall as a kid! The villains were very memorable. I still remember one rat with a poisoned blade so sharp in cut through a Badgers plate armour like butter. Cluny the Scourge? Or was that a different one? Not sure. I will read them to my son in a few years :)
@Weez-2_The-Beez2 жыл бұрын
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Ohf that’s a tricky question.. I don’t remember which villain had a poisoned sword..?.. Cluney had a poisoned tail barb if memory serves me correctly, it’s been well over 20+ years since the last time I’ve read the Redwall series.. I suppose it’s time to pull out the series from my storage unit and “paw” through them again.. If I remember which character you’re talking about I’ll pop back on here and let you know who it was cuz looking online is for cheaters lol

The mighty "Chorizo" looks like the lovely Denholm Elliot; use of the punny names for Mordheim is great, just like with Blood Bowl. The unarmed character is a cool idea; though, I guess he could have been used as a Battle Wizard. That list of Cask names could work well for a Halfling or Dwarf Warband. I'm looking forward to more Mordheim videos; especially the crossover with your Titan Build.

I know it’s going to take time to get to, you have such a great approach to your channel, but I can’t wait. Those buildings really are amazing, and totally deserve a big board home.
