Another fab video, this came on a great day after 17 months of trying to get my spaniel x to heel and stop pulling me, your encouraging videos taught me to keep trying to get him to do it... today he walked to heel 😮 on our walk yippee 🎉 as Charlie says you get in what you put in, no quick fixes this is real life ...... one happy proud owner... but the training continues 😊 thanks Charlie ❤

I absolutely LOVE your coaching to people to STICK TO IT!! I have so many who say exactly that - "oh it doesn't work, I tried it..." after trying something ONCE with their dogs. Consistenc and persistence - that's what trains dogs. Really looking forward to meeting you on our visit to Scotland :)

Might as well get this engrained in the back of my mind for when Rosie boy Rum is 6 months and its time to start lead training. This video was needed in the catalogue for sure. 😎

Please would you advise on which lead to use as there is a suggestion that figure of eight leads are a good lead to use on a labrador puppy.

My dogs the same, he’s raw fed and perfectly healthy. But still loves a chomp on the grass 😂. Will play with his ball and chow on the grass around him. The explanation of eating a ruminant’s stomach content makes sense. They do love tripe when offered.

Totally get the approach and tips. Totally get the one step at a time approach. However can you comment on how the doubled up loose lead concept works with a much small shorter cocker. Also slipping the lead on an off is also much more of a faff with a smaller dog as is walking and tapping the dog when having to hunch over 2 feet to reach her. Advice much appreciated.
@MordorGundogs2 ай бұрын
You are 100% correct More of a faff but same technique used on cockers too. Everything with cockers is hard so why change a habbit of a life time 😂

Is it too late to start slip lead training with our two Golden Retrievers that we’ve had for a while - one from a puppy, she is 2.5 years old, and one rescue dog who is about 3 or 4 years old - if we’ve always used harness and “normal” leads attached to harness or collar?

It's never too late in my opinion. My ACD girl is 3 years now. I started using a slip lead about six month ago and just discovered Mordor Gundogs a week ago. I have been doing his method for loose lead walking for 5 days now and I finally enjoy taking her for walks. I really hated it before because she was pulling so much.

It’s the only method that stopped my big lab from pulling at 3 years old. Watched all the Mordor videos about it and made a training plan for myself. Never to late!

I thought the idea of a slip lead was that they go up higher under the jaw line to have control of head and to prevent dogs neck being damaged

When a dog is anxious or is experiencing anxiety it might start to eat grass as a subconscious comfort. The dog needs a break.
