for those wondering according to NASA "Though Mercury's magnetic field at the surface has just 1% the strength of Earth's, it interacts with the magnetic field of the solar wind to sometimes create intense magnetic tornadoes that funnel the fast, hot solar wind plasma down to the surface of the planet". So yes plasma tornadoes exist and are a thing on mercury ^.^

I don't blame Quill for being intimidated by the Ship designer. It's definitely the most impenetrable part of this game. I hope the devs can find a way to make it more understandable for mere mortals like myself without compromising on its depth.

Regarding 1:27:42, the following a piece of information that is not stated in the game, as far as I know. But it is not too hard to figure out either, so... mild spoiler? Aliens can only move into adjacent regions. This is until pro-alien human factions (i.e. Servants, Protectorate or Academy) complete the Alien Diplomacy project, which allows Aliens to move freely between any of their respectively controlled regions across the Earth.

the reason why the time changes in the designer is that adding engines changes the flight dynamics of the design as well as the TIME it takes to build. Which changes the launch window.... Which affects how long it will take to get to a specific location.... It's doing a lot of math behind the scenes which is why it looks so obtuse and seems to not make sense.

The Federation system is kinda confusing at first, but you can add any nations to the federation of any of the "core" members have a general claim land owned by that non-core potential federation member. But you can never unify with them fully. So you can have a Denmark in a United North America but you cant unify them later unlike Canada. The way I do it is I take the outsider potential federated member and just have them cede territory then drop control on them. In my game I have Canada as a member of the EU.

1:57:25 Factually false. Most atoms do not contain neutrons. Only a proton. By count, most atoms in the universe are H-1, the common hydrogen. Which does not contain a neutron.

Why are you so focused on range for Monitor ships. You are supposed to build them directly from orbital/land habitat. You are overweighting your ships so much that they can't do their actual job in order to fill a job that isn't their. Monitor are heavily armored short range (coastal) defence ships. You are trying to turn them into high sea long range battlecruiser...

The game correctly models the behavior of humans. Since China is authorititarian with high unity, its people assume they are all supposed to be aligned with the government, despite it being completely obvious that government is the force that always subverts and destroys the wealth of people.
