Hi average Alice. I am listening to you now on my Cozyphone. They arrived today. Very clear. An added bonus is that they help prevent heat loss from my head as I sleep. We winter camp in our Casita.

Awesome! I have two pairs! I like Casitas too but there were no dealers near us

@@averagealice8877 I'm afraid Casita doesn't have dealers. Their production and delivery facility is Rice, Texas. We live in NC and bought ours on Craigs list from a couple in eastern Va. They were a few years older than us and bascially said camping of any kind had gotten too difficult.

Hi Alice, thanks for another good video. We have an Aliner Classic. We tow ours with a Toyota Sienna. It gives us lots more room for bins of stuff and also four bicycles we use in our travels. AWD is available and so is a lift kit for more ground clearance. I love the 4runner but it is too small to work for us. We average 17.4 mpg pulling the Aliner.

Great Video Alice. The information you've provide has been very helpful. I just put a down payment on an Aliner Classic with the soft dormers. I've decided to have 2 100w solar panels installed on the dormer roof. The dealer I'm working with is making the modifications and beefing up the hydraulic lift to handle the additional weight. I'm also installing 2 AGM batteries. So, we will see how that works. I'm puzzled as to why you are not using the on board water system and water heater.

This is our winter camping set-up for boondocking in off-road locations. And it's been really cold at night, even in the trailer (in the 30's when we're not using our Wave 3 heater). We're not sure if those pipes would burst, but we don't want to risk it.

@@averagealice8877 Have you considered camping without water in the pipes. Regardless it's nice to have the heater.

William Branham Yes that’s all we ever do now and we think it’s simpler and easier just using jugs for water. No winterizing headaches!

Great setup! Thanks for the Video. Its sad that even as far out away from civilization we go, we still have to worry about theft!

So true. But so far we haven't had anything stolen after 1.5 years of doing this

I stopped worrying about theft a long time ago. In 73 years I've never had anything stolen. Obviously, I have insurance. But, I do worry about a personal attack. Irrational for the most part, but I do take reasonable. precautions.

Hi Alice, thanks for your informative videos! I'm a new A-frame owner too, and it's nice to know what mods other people try and like or don't like. I was wondering where you got your white cross bar poles you are using inside, and what brand they are? I am looking for some that have the button adjustment like yours, versus a non-collapsible or the flimsy twist adjustment and will span the with of my camper. Jennifer - South Dakota

Hi Alice; why did you go with A Frame; was it due less wind drag traveling? Otherwise I see it as not comfortable for you folks or perhaps for me? I see you better in campers like Geo Pros 16, R-Pods 17, Tab, that have more storage and better Water tanks set up for boon-docking. Yes heavier. Would I by a F-150 with 2.7 Ecoboost Supercab. Perhaps all season camper.

We did look at those trailers in the spring of 2017 (things may have changed since then), and we chose the Aliner, because it had higher ground clearance with the off road package (except the Rpod), we wanted the king size bed you can make with the LXE model and you couldn't find that in the Rpod, and we liked all the windows and the high ceiling. Our priority was off-road camping, sometimes in freezing temperatures, so we don't use the Aliner's water tanks because we're concerned about pipes bursting in a hard freeze. I doubt we'd have used the water system in any of those trailers unless it had a fresh water tank heater or circulating system. Someday I want to look at a Casita though which we weren't able to find near us. My dream was a Sportsmobile van with decent sized bed

For trash use the plastic bag you get when you go shopping at the grocery store. they make great cheap hanger for it

Big fan Alice, your videos are informative and unbiased. Not a salesman! lol. Im looking at purchasing an Aliner Expedition with twin bunks. Since watching your videos I don't think I will get the end dormers because of the wind/draft issues. The dinette will be in the bed position 95% of the time and wont need the head space. I also like that the Aliner can be stored in my garage. That being said, how would you rate your Aliner out of five stars and would you add or delete anything if you could? Thanks
@averagealice8877
@averagealice8877 5 жыл бұрын
Phil Bellman Honestly ... I might post a video about the newest Geopro that just came out , but of course it won’t fit in the garage. Has a king bed. Our Aliner is a towing dream, but it’s so much work packing and unpacking. And kind of small for two people if you’re doing long trips. But we’re seniors so factor that in... Dormer drafts can be solved with stick on foam BTW

I am in the process of buying a sienna. I want to tow an aliner i don't own yet. Looking. The 2009 sienna has the tow prep package but not hitch or wiring etc. I know the aliner has a 7 prong round but the uhaul company said they don't install them, only the 4. Where on earth can I have this all done? I am afraid to buy the sienna thinking it will not work with an aliner but you have shown it works! I would appreciate help or advice. Nice aliner!!

your biggest mistake , with regard to the shower, is buying an A frame Aliner. I am a guy, just bought a Scout Lite. It is missing all the things you probably like. I am single, no way a woman is gonna be happy camping with me. Just the way I like it! Aliner should refuse to sell Aframes to couples. They probably have caused a lot of divorces.
@averagealice8877

Well we’re not divorced yet! I consider myself roughing it when we only take a shower every other day on our trips... still far superior to the old car camping days with no shower
