its almost like, since the sequels, a set of """Fans""" of starwars have been going around complaining about everything without actually taking the time to understand the IP and its history.

This is the type of content that I wish would break through the noise more often in regards to The Acolyte. So many of the complaints appear to be nonsensical.

I rarely see somebody actually give this show a real criticism. It's always just woke this and woke that and I'm so done with it. If somebody says to me something's woke. I just disregard their entire opinion

As there are only a handful of characters who are aware of the sith being around, I think they're either going to die or something will happen to stop the rest of the jedi being informed. If the word is sent to the jedi, I don't think Mundis cameo would have an impact with lore inconsistency, as the jedi would know about the sith anyway.

Serious question when did 6 to 8 episodes become anything other than a first season? What happened to like actual real Seasons that had 15 or 20 episodes

I don't think it's a bad thing. However, some shows just work better with more episodes. The mandalorian and ahsoka work great with It's 8 episodes, but something like Avatar the last Airbender will never work in just 8 episodes.

episode 1 lore isn't completely destroyed if all the jedi involved dies, so no its not fully ruined yet

lol appearantly he is. Just from the comments im seeing such insane flawed logic such as the one directly above you "have people forgotton how midichlorians supposedly broke lore?" He asks. Meanwhile the prequels went down like a lead balloon with fans because it was very much disliked. So i they kind of keep faceplanting into walls trying to defend it. Ultimately they misunderstand these critisisms are breaking it down as to why it is objectively bad, but, the primary reason it is bad is actually just simply that it sucks. Like really badly.

Yes and no. I don't like the Acolyte. I stopped watching after episode 2. However, I can defend it over dumb criticism

I haven't seen the Acolyte, but I know episode 5 introduces cortosis. Here's the problem: if you have a material that can render a lightsaber useless then why wasn't it used in the prequels and cartoons? Cad Bane would have some for sure. This can be handled if, in the next 3 episodes, they say that the Jedi hunted down all sources of cortosis and eliminated them.

In legends, Cortosis is very rare and very brittle. I'm assuming that's what they're doing in canon.

@@SuperMandoLive That's fine, but they should say that in The Acolyte. I hope they address this in a future episode. They can get back to Coruscant and have some exposition about it. That would satisfy me.

Yes. EU/Legands is Not Canon. But that doesn't make it (Parts of it anyway) Not Better than Anything created by Disney.

@cupofjoe4642 totally agree that Ki Adi Mundi being in the Acolyte is an odd choice. But the age of the character with no Canon birthyear shouldn't be an issue. That's why I said, "Who cares?"

@@SuperMandoLive I get that, but I think it’s somewhat dismissive. You may not care, that doesn’t mean others shouldn’t. At this point, Disney has screwed around so much with canon and Star Wars in general to where stuff like this is like ‘really?’ Star Wars has always been about insanely deep discussions about lore and different species/planets/droids, so people caring and arguing about his age is very on point of Star Wars. That’s why I’m saying the fans care. They’ve always cared and argued about the origins of things, where things fit, time lines, life span of different aliens, whether canon or no, all these things have been discussed at depth for decades

Valid video. When watching the acolyte I felt it was a bad Star Wars show but it was its own idea they decided to slap Star Wars on. If they had just made it as its own premise it probably wouldn’t be as popular but wouldn’t get as much hate 🤷🏾‍♂️

The series isn't too bad for all the negative comments, reviews But the best comment that i read was "Even the fans don't know what they want" And is funny cuz a lot of people was complaining about the witches plot, and literally they killed them all lol, osha and mae will die or they will be exile What is really important here and may be in next contents is: Who is the sith master

Main complaint I had about the show is that the "Pregnant without a father because of the force" thing basically makes Anakin's whole "Chosen one" shtick useless because clearly then people are just made by the force all willy nilly. I did like how other more isolated and secluded places would have different names for the force much like how many real-life places have different names for certain things but that idea is kind of dropped with that boring ass "power o' 1; power o' 2" ritual. The whole show could've been executed well if the idea was fleshed out a little better, with less plot holes and with cooler ideas. Still enjoyed the vid.

I think the idea is there, but the execution is awful. I think one change that would have made the show tolerable is making Sol the main character. He's the only one who's actually well written and is a likable character.

I'm pretty sure other early communities in the galaxy had there own way of seeing and even using the force, like the Dathomirian Night Sister witches. I don't remember if they also called it something different but they serve as a good example I think. I certainly thought they were more interesting than the 'Witches' we encountered and just as quickly killed off here

There is a difference between something not being extinct and the world knowing that it is not extinct. This argument holds no ground, because the continuity was, that the Jedi didn't see or hear about any sith for millenia. so nobody, no Jedi, no gangsta, no police, no law biding citizen has reported sith activity. Since nobody disagreed or corrected mundi, this seemed to be the case. Now in the acolyte they contradict it. There was sith activity. There was two Anakin style births as well. Mundi somehow returned before he was thought to be born. So either mundi knew about the sith and was a dogshit person (character assassination), they somehow forgott (game of thrones flashbacks) or the writing gets worse and nobody has money on their payphone to tell anybody before they die or this whole mess is a feaverdream of mundi who smoked some crack. Either way, this show is a crime against humanity and Disney should be procecuted in den haag.

What they're doing is going around with a whole lot of technicalities. He technically doesn't know the guy is a "sith" and they're definitely going to kill all the jedi who know about the "sith" so technically Ki adi mundi never knew there was a sith. It's very stupid, and all of this could have been avoided by just not adding him into the show. Just because no one reported any sith activity doesn't mean they didn't do anything. Darth Maul killed a lot of people before Qui Gon and obi wan ever saw him.

I'll just cherry pick one of your awful arguments and refute that one The Sith were never extinct, that is correct. The whole point of that line was that the Jedi had no idea of their existence, we know the Jedi to be fallible and show hubris in the prequel trilogy and this was a perfect example of it. Now, with what we now know, at least 1 Jedi had witnessed a Sith (and declare himself as such) and because of this, Master Squid Games and one of the 2 lame chicks either have to fly into an asteroid on their way back or report this back to the council. IF then the council or whoever try to cover this up, this only serves to make the Jedi (especially ones we know who were alive at the time, withstanding Master forehead) the bad guys for lying to the galaxy and not attempting to keep the peace for 100 years before Qui-Gon fights Maul

I don't see how that's a refute because the criticism I was talking about is how the sith were extinct, which, like you and i said, isn't true. You did not prove that my point is incorrect. You just added more context and your issues with a sith being in the acolyte, which I personally would have preferred if they didn't make him a sith. But I bet they're going to go through a lot of technicalities to make it line up with phantom menace, like what they did with Ki Adi Mundi. Since he technically never knew the bad guy was a sith (so far) in the acolyte. I do want to see you disprove my other points tho, I'm curious and could show what I'm incorrect on.

Like if he did that and failed he would accept it was because he made a creative decision that didn’t pan out. But now it’s either you love it or you’re a bigot, you’re not even allowed to not like it. When the prequels came out sure people disliked it but that stayed as a fandom debate never went into disparaging character

It's a fact that a lot, but far from all, of the backlash was coming from a chud mentality, but they can't seem to address it without people getting super defensive. It's these 'fans' that are using race as a shield from criticism, not disney.

I don't know why youtube suggested this channel, the guy is obviously lying, he watched the show, he got buttmad, hes trying to defend the show without being called a shill, even though you gotta be a shill to even defend this trash show which obviously hates it's source material, hate it's fans, hates (itself really) everything that there is to hate. The timing of scenes is all over the place, characters have no depth, they used the trinity actor as their opening just to kill her instantly, obviously hired the main actress out of nepotism because she can't act for shit. Yadda yadda yadda, why am I even wasting time with this? KZbin is gonna remove this comment anyways.

I literally stopped watching after episode 2. Just because I don't like the show doesn't mean I can't defend it over dumb criticism, which is the point of the video. There are so many things wrong with the show, yet people complain about Ki Adi Mundis age? Something that was never in canon.

@@SuperMandoLivei agree with you, I think the show is horrible. That said this fandom has a crazy hate boner for everything disney anytime they drop some mid. Not to defend Disney though, they have breed an extremely disrespectful audience by being disrespectful to them for years.

@@SuperMandoLive And you're being a nitpicker for picking the nitpick over Ki Adi bit about the age when the far worse issue is how they (deliberately imo) chose the one character that under no circumstances should be there. This is on the level of "why do you care?" after the damage has been done and the changes were already pushed forward. Hell, it wouldn't even matter if you could find anything in the books because Disney axed all the lore from those the second they bought the IP, is it something dumb to get mad about? Maybe, but it shows the absolute disregard of the show and everyone involved in it, stop poisoning the well.
