2nd heart container=The coast item. The raft will never be on an island. The randomizer has logic built in where it will never put an item in a completely unobtainable location.

Depends on the game really, the Super Metroid randomizer can actually bone you right at the start if you don't get a Morph Ball.

aren't you guaranteed one of 3 items at the start in super metroid randomizer (morph ball, screw attack, or speed boost)? all of which can at least get you somewhere, while the morph ball is relatively early. been awhile since i played that randomizer, though.

The SM rando expects you to know a few glitches and tricks to complete. Like one wall wall jumps.

A few randomizers do that. The A Link to the Past randomizer can put items in unobtainable locations if the rest of the game is randomized in a way to be beatable without the item. For example in a few dungeons the big key can be in the big chest, if you don't need it for the boss door.

What we are saying, WHERE he found the Silver Arrows, is WHERE that lone Heart Container normally sits. So that lone heart piece as a treasure normally sits on the dock far right from level 2, on the coast. He was saying he needed the raft to normally get the heart piece but he was mistaken which heart he got.

You aren't going to know this until your next recording session, but the randomizer sanity checks itself. It will always be WINNABLE. If you need the raft, you will BE ABLE to get the raft.

Why does Jared still _thinks_ that the randomizer would do stupid shit like spawning the raft in a place that _needs_ the raft in the first place? There are checks to prevent that. Didn't he learn his lesson with ALttP Randomized? He found a Heart Container in the dungeon because the Heart Container that is normally on some planks on the beach to east got into the mix (it was the Silver Arrows in this run).

Linksys120n the thing about Ocarina is that you need the dungeon items to beat the dungeon no matter what, and you can't leave Kokiri Forest until you best the first dungeon

It's hilarious how Jared started this series out by saying, "I know this game REALLY well." And in parts, he has...mostly the overworld locations of secrets. But he's wrong so often. Him freaking out about the raft not being in level 4 is cracking up. The raft is normally in level 3. Then you take it over to the island, which is level 4. Which normally has the ladder. There is nothing to be all freaked out over. Lol. You're just mistaken.

From looking at the randomizer its self, the heart container that is normally where you got the silver arrows got thrown into the pool of items in your randomizer picking random options, and that is one of the options.

The Heart Container that he found in the Dungeon Treasure room was the one that normally goes where he found the Silver Arrow on the platform in the Water on the Far right side of the map. That container got shuffled in with the Dungeon Treasures.

So it is designed to not let you get stuck, right? I got the impression that the step ladder had to be placed somewhere in an earlier dungeon where it isn't necessary for you to already have it. And when he finally found it, it was in level 1. So that makes sense.

Where you got the silver arrow on the beach is supposed to be a heart container. It looks like they inserted that particular heart container into the "major item" rotation. Raft might be in level 9 instead????

Man, I do not think I'd have the patience to play this game this way without making a map. The fun thing is knowing of a couple spots he breezed past repeatedly so far. (There's a 30 Rupee spot I almost always snag early for candle-buying purposes.)

As far as I can tell (by comparing to an overworld map), there's 3 spots he hasn't checked, yet: the 2 islands and a tree in the top-right corner of the screen at 26:33. However, he still has not gotten the 2nd item in level 8 (he skipped 2-3 rooms) and he's completely avoided searching level 9, so that's 3 items he knows the location of (other than in level 7), and the last dungeon is probably in either the tree or one of the islands.

Actually, as you already found where the silver arrows were, the logical conclusion would be that those overworld heart containers (very few as they are) are part of the dungeon item pool. Which means that you /should/ have guessed that dungeon 9 (which you have already found) could well have had the raft. Though instead it seems ganon was hoarding both boomerangs, so.
