Correct. Every Dungeon still has one Triforce, one Heart Container, and one or two items (normal drops for the dungeon, so Lv. 1 has two items). The trick is the triforce can be in ANY room, guarded by any monster (or none at all).

The recorder didn't summon a whirlwind because you didn't actually beat the level. It takes you to dungeons you've completed. By the by, there are also about two other screens (aside from the fiary fountain with no rairy) where the recorder will reveal a hidden staircase on the overworld. You never know if a dungeon could be hidden in one of those...

Compass actually would have been the best outcome, I think. It would have shown him which room the triforce was actually in and taught him that he needs to kill all the enemies in every room if he wants to get all the important things in a dungeon. (Though using the compass without also having the map is a bit of a pain.)

There is a good SNES USB-controller. iBuffalo Classic USB Gamepad is a Japan made controller, which actually works. It feels tight and all buttons and directions work exactly like you want them to. Plus it has a turbo option for each button.

As someone who has never played a Zelda game in their life, I love watching these vids. Even when it takes Jared an hour to do a single dungeon, he makes the whole thing fun to watch. I do remember a lot of people complaining during the last set he did about some of the hidden chests, but that's never bothered me. I guess it's because I don't have the Zelda experience that a lot of Jared's viewers probably have.

Jared, you don't know this game as well as you think. First of all, you need to kill all the enemies in a room before you can push the blocks (you tried pushing a block without killing the zols (blobs) first). Secondly, some blocks can only be pushed up/down, not left/right (in the room with corner traps and two individual blocks you tried pushing the left one from the right then concluded it wasn't pushable. Try from the top or bottom). EDIT: Also, the whistle only takes you to dungeons you've beaten. That's why it wasn't working.
