Going towards making 12.5 inch scrappy squares in the near future. I keep ALL my scrap fabric in a neat condition so its faster to use. Having learned that is how i work better.

That's a great size to work with, Anita! Having a stash of pre-made blocks makes putting those quilts together much quicker. Thanks so much for watching! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

I love scrapy quilts! I feel a sense of satisfaction using what I already have. You bring the idea of scrappy to a whole new level. The finish blocks look really complicated but just a little prep work makes for a great finished project. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

The funny thing is how long it took me to call my 'methods' scrappy, Maryanne! It sounds like such an awful name - my quilts aren't scraps!!! I always called them stash quilts instead. But scrappy resonates with quilters and I got over the name...so here we are! Thanks for watching! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

You are so welcome, Anita! Sure appreciate your comment. 😊 We all just want to make beautiful quilts so sharing techniques simply makes it easier for everyone. That way we each use what we learn in our own way and keep quilting alive. I recently read that the number of quilters in America has increased in the last few decades which makes me very happy! Quilters are awesome people and I'm so blessed to part of this creative community. Thanks so much for watching! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

Lea, I'm working on a "Potato Chip Block Quilt right now. And, I Love it!!! It is completely scrappy; I used 2.5" strips - the blocks turn out to be 12.5 x 12.5". I did 2 rounds of strips around the 2 vertical center strips (2.5" x 4.5"). The block is so much fun to make! I thought for sure I would put a serious dent in my massive bags of scraps. To my dismay, I think they propagated overnight 😮 That's okay, I can make more "Potato Chip Blocks". HOORAY! 😃 I'll quit babbling and watch the rest of this video; I know it'll be great. Many thanks for your tutorials, from a longtime quilter ❤ 😎

You are absolutely right, Lindsay! You'd think this block would use up tons of scraps. This is the second quilt from my scrap pile but it's still overtaking my cutting mat. Luckily these are quick and easy once you get the process down so there will me more. I actually just contacted Project Linus about donating kid size quilts. My plan is to use larger scrap pieces for the backing to really use up those scrap fabrics. Plus I want to make them very colorful. Love you comment! Thanks for watching! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

You are so welcome, Lindsay! It's special for me and I enjoy looking at all those fabrics. I pieced it the 'old-fashioned' hard way but would love to do a tutorial on how to put it together with today's easier tricks. Is there ever enough time? I had to retire so I could quilt full-time, not sure where more time will come from. Perhaps I just need less sleep!! 😂🤣😂 Thanks so much for following along! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

Have you ever thought about adding a dolid black narrow strip to let the rye dtop?
@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise10 ай бұрын
Great suggestion, Charolett! Narrow strips are a way I often use to add accent colors for some great contrast. I thought about for this one too, but the strips sizes didn't work out for that. The strips I used were cut into different widths and I just used what was cut. Now that I've made the block, the next version will be more fine-tuned. 😊 Thanks so much for following along!
