Slave To The Algorithm. The intro chords were also the JD-800 I think? But this patch used here sounds like the intro of The Chase by Propaganda!

It's such a beautiful sound. Its colour and top notes just sit so well in the structure. And that Moog ... Compliments it so well! Great selection of pieces to showcase it. Well well done. Keep up the great work. And a very Happy New Year to you!

Ach was genial. Sehr sehr gut gemachte Demonstration.

I imagine many of these tones are emulated in my acquisition from June 2024, a Hydrasynth Explorer. I also enjoyed that set of shots where you had the Source mounted on top of the Wave. Back in autumn of 24, I got into a bit of a tangle on Facebook with people about why I would like the stackable surface of the Wave models.

Wow what a way to start the new year with a beautiful PPG wave 2.2 beautiful sounds that synths makes. To think of how old it is now it was way ahead of its time. Can I ask a question? I see you have the computer screen part to that synth. Do you need that part to do sampling or can it just do it with the stand alone keyboard? Love this synth but don’t know much about how it all works. I understand how the Emulator works but not the PPG. Anyway another great demo of fantastic songs and always appreciated what you do and share with us. Thank you and hope the new year brings you luck.

Thank you very much Michael for your wishes for the new year. 🙌Just as the old year ended, so the new one begins. With retro salad and dressing. I wish you a happy new year 2025. 💫 The computer unit is called Waveterm. It supplies data to the synthesiser and enables sampling, resynthesis, sequencing and the creation of new waveforms and wave sets. You can analyse samples and create new waveforms from them. Everything is very complex. For 1982: this system was way ahead of its time.

I can't work out if I like the PPG sounds or not! They sound so metallic and digital and quite similar.....but that is the point of it eh! It's proper 80s. There is something that keeps me coming back to this synth though. You can't deny some big hits are written with it! I guess it's like the DX7 in a way.....same arguments......I do like your demos that bass sounds good

@@retrosound72 Wasn't "Slave To The Rhythm" a Synclavier? Also, any chance you can do a video of the PPG Factory Presets (with identifiers)?
@retrosound723 күн бұрын
@marzzz1 I think it was the PPG in the intro. You can find a few older PPG vids on my channel with factory sounds.
@marzzz13 күн бұрын
Okay, I couldn't resist doing a little research, and from an interview it appears Andrew Richards sampled a PPG Waveterm A into the Synclavier, so we are both kinda right. Will look through all of your videos for the Factory Sounds, thanks.

@retrosound722 күн бұрын
