More Google Pixel 9s Than We Expected? 👀

I think it’s no secret that this has been a very weird year for tech. We usually complain about TechTember because of iPhone and TechTober because of more Apple launches along with Pixels, but it seems manufacturers this year are really gearing up into earlier launch cycles in order to put their offerings ahead of Apple. We first saw it with Samsung who went from launching its Galaxy Note around September, to now having me here in early July for its foldables. I know.. Hotel-room videos for the win. Thing is Google seems to be the next company to change things dramatically. Here we were expecting the usual fall launch for the Pixels, but nope, invites are now teased for August, and this time we hear that the strategy is gonna change yet again, with more devices than before. The Pixel 8 doesn't have a GN2 sensor. It is a modified GN1 sensor.

It's safe to say Google is scared, hence the earlier than expected release. Especially after Apple confirmed it's 100 million iPhone 16 super-cycle coming in September. It's almost like Google also know their desperate Pixel 9 iClone is about to tank this year too. 💯🤭

Imo samsung changed their release date just to make it easier for consumers the s series used to be around march april but ever since they brought their name in line with the year were in (s20-2020 s24-2024etc) they've been pushing it towards the start of the year making it that consumers will know new year new samsung. They have also always been making the a note/fold phone thats abt 6 months appart from their normal phone so if the normal phone is pushed forwards so will the foldable. Thats what i think atleast

The dimensions don't add up with the screen sizes compared to previous generations. How can the 9 have the same screen size as the 6a but be bigger in every direction? How can the 9 pro have the same screen as the 8 but be so much bigger?

I'm a huge pixel fan, but I really am not a fan of this new camera bar design. I prefer the full width visor like the 8 range. If they feel they had to go this route then I think the more squared off camera bar of the fold would have looked better than the rounder look on the leaked 9 range. I do like the idea of a small pro option though.

It's funny because it really goes to show you how subjective it is. I legit think it looks SO much better than the pixel 6,7 and 8 pros. I've never been that keen on the visor look, but the 9 XL looks sexy

First time into Pixels with my 8. I don't daily it over my S24U, but I would LOVE to have a 9 Pro in this small form. I'm terrified of minimal upgrades that matters to me: Finger print sensor, low light facial recognition, and COOLING. My P8 does feel warm after average use.

As a pixel 8 pro user, I'm excited for the pixel 9 pro but I'm 100% waiting for the pixel 10 pro! And it seems like a lot of pixel users are also waiting for the pixel 10 seeing how everyone wants that tsmc chip! But either way it goes. I'm enjoying my pixel 8 pro great cameras, great battery life, excellent gaming phone and the only time I can get it to thermal throttle is when it's on the wireless charger in my car and it's 90 plus degrees outside. But that's to be expected seeing how my Samsung and my iPhone does the same thing!

So basically every company started copying Apple. At this point is funny that android phones still exists. The Samsung watch ultra like seriously and now a 9 9 plus 9 pro and 9 pro plus that's exactly what apple has. Instead make a phone with bigger battery bigger storage even include the microSD card, bring back the 3.5 mm audio jack with a lossless DAC and see how that phone flies off the shelves

Same crappy exynos modem again. No Thanks!! I had the Pixel 7 and the 8 pro and connectivity issues were a constant problem with my At&t service. I got the Asus ROG phone 7 and the connectivity has been great with my At&t service

I have a pixel 8 myself and for me the 9 pro is a good add as I like the pro phone but it is too big for me. The big problem with the pixel for me is the tensor chip. If the tensor g4 doesn't improve on power, efficiency, modem and thermals I'll switch to an iPhone 16 pro

I have the 6 pro. I've been looking forward to upgrading it but I don't see myself going for the 9. They are going to have to step up majorly to win me over. Leaning towards going back to OnePlus. Their 12 model hits the specs I'm looking for and I'm more excited about the upcoming OnePlus 13 model than I am the pixel 9 model. On a side note, the camera and video capabilities aren't high on my list of requirements. I'm not big on photos or videos.

@@iriebacon6272 I have the last phone that Carl Pei made before he left the company, the OnePlus 8 Pro. The only reason I won't go back to OnePlus is that you can't install whatever OS you want after their 3-4 years of updates end. The smartphone market had a braking point when they introduced the 120Hz screen. After that, I don't see anything being nearly worth an upgrade, even every 3 years. My CPU can play games at 120Hz no problem. 1440p is a good resolution, going to 4K won't help at all. The next big upgrade that is going to be worth an upgrade is probably when they go from lithium to graphene batteries? But that won't happen in a long time. If you can name an existing jump in tech that isn't a gimmick, then I'm all ears!

The only thing that keeps me from buying Google pixel phones is the storage.128g is not enough when you always have apps pushing out updates. 256g should be the minimum. If they are stuck on 128g on memory, then they should give us the option to install a micro memory card.

The exclusion of the new chip is a fail. The inclusion last year of this "Seven Years Of Updates" was a joke. No phone will last that long because of the lithium batteries. No one even keeps their phones that long unless they are Apple users. They need to go back to the Nexus playbook. Let manufacturer make phones for them, I mean in all honesty a Pixel at this point is just a Old Samsung phone with Google branding on it, but seems as though they are too deep at this point to change course. We can Only Hope to see upgrades in the chip next year to bring these devices up to par with current gen devices. Can you imagine a Pixel with a Snapdragon processor in it? Maybe then they would be able to compete. They can focus on the Android Pixel Party Tricks, and still make a phone that will perform. We just haven't seen one since the Nexus line was ditched years ago for some reason. They dropped the name, and the quality when they decided to go In House, for some reason, and continue to push out devices that no longer have that Wow factor that get people excited. Software Dog and Pony shows can only carry a device so far.

I love my 8 Pro too but the flat display and sides of the 9 Pro XL especially in black looks amazing. With the 7 Pro and 8 Pro I went with the main halo colors but unless the 9 Pro XL is offered in the 7 Pro Hazel color, pretty sure I'll get black this time.
