We know how it works pal but unfortunately for yourubers they only have a shelf life and usually end up in massive debts once the figures fade. In Steves case it will be a bit of what he says but he also got a sub hike to over 400k because of Garret. Bare in mind most Cleetus bots are really clueless about mechanics and engineering so this wont appeal to them after the initial few vids they watch. All they care about is stuff being wrecked on purpose. Seen this before losds of times.

Insight on the dyno was a nice change of pace and of course the added Dewey content is greatly appreciated--such a good boy! No issues with notifications on our end but the drop-off you notice is likely due to a pause in content release. The more content; regardless if you think it's worthy or not, should help keep people watching. More is always better than less, unless we're talking an ammo or fuel load while being on fire. In those cases less is better.... lol Cheers!

Just a thought, as you do large power applications on the dyno, would you consider looking into a large marine diesel dyno? MTU diesel engines are a high speed diesel applications that are used in yachts, catamaran-style ferries all for pushing these vessels 25+ knots. All these engines need to be dyno'ed. Even large diesel trucks, and their dyno applications Anyway, thanks for all the great content and hard work putting out all these videos Cheers
@bigduphusaj1627 ай бұрын
i work with large marine engines even bigger than the MTU lumps. You are talking Industrual custom made dynos at that level and you dont even want to know the price on them and you cannot find much info on them whatsoever. They come with quarterly service plans that are 6 figures mate. Stuff that can measure 20k+ NM is worth more than entire car shops and race outfits bud.
@bigduphusaj1627 ай бұрын
Also MTU suck. Paxman Valenta pulls way harder than the MTU garbage. The bigger Napier Deltic with the scavange blower and 2 stage blowers put any MTU to shame. MTU wish they were old proper Rolls Royce. The worst and most hated MTU of all times is the variants that replaced the Old Paxman Valenta in the Intercity 125. The Scottish Intercity 125s had the best Valenta lumps from the WW2 torpedo boats and they were running silly power basically put back to their Marine power figures. The English didnt need their Intercity 125s to be as powerful as the ones climbing the hills in Scotland so they had the Paxman Valentas that were considered bellow par for marine and Submarine battery charge engines believe it or not. Anyway MTU engines arent that great just so you know mate.

I was thinking, could you use polyurethane suspension bushing material instead of springs in the spring loaded plate? It won't break, be quieter and will take a lot of abuse. Those plates don't get hot, so the material should be okay. I could be wrong though.

The fact of the matter is that an engine delivers torque in bursts, a V8 does it 4 times per rotation, but what we are measuring is the average. So an engine making 2000lbs of torque as indicated by the dyno is doing more like 4000lbs in short impulses 4 times per rotation and that averages out to 2000. And a 4 cylinder is even worse because there is longer time for everything to unload between firing events. Diesels are the worst yet, with faster more abrupt combustion that delivers all the torque in even shorter impulses. A flywheel helps smooth out the impulses.
