Octo Expansion is so interesting to look at because it gives us a glimpse of what Splatoon 2 was in 3.0. For example, Splash-o-matic and H-3 Nozzlenose have jump RNG, and like you said, Sploosh-o-matic takes longer to reach max swimming speed.

One main weapon difference that you can see in Octo Expansion and one that sticks out to me the most is that back then Squiffer did not retain its charge speed mid-air.

I honestly really liked the bit they did with Octostomp constantly returning for every single story mode, even to the point Frye was using a hollowed out one. I really wish they did it again for Side Order tbh just to bring it back one last time but I get why they didn’t cause how else can you really flavor it

Splatoon 1's Octomaw was SO cool. I was hoping that Megalodontia might bring back the teeth-breaking mechanic from it, but alas. Hoping it returns in some form in a future game.

I liked the bit they did for the octostomps boss intros more than the boss itself. Between this and the dumb ball from Side Order, I'm not sure these defense-oriented bosses are the best fit for Splatoon

Honestly my battle against OE Octostomp consisted 90% of me hanging out in that little trench on the side because it was the safest place. Took me roughly 30 min to beat

The simplicity of Octostomp makes it a decent tutorial boss, but it also means that there really isn’t a way to make it super exciting. It should've just stayed as a tutorial boss

I would really like for you to beat targetbuster station or whatever it's called with the Carbon roller. Because that station is designed around the movement speed of the 2 brushes, target buster station with Carbon is one of 2 stages that prevented me from beating every stage with every weapon option in Octo Expansion. The other was Matchmaster station with the Rapid blaster because I was too scared to ever try it.

Octostomp is historically an easy boss fight, in every game. Octo expansion makes it fun, but also it just is a bit long, but not boring.

I think burst should change efficiency for main weapons tbh. so 40% for s-blast and stamper and 45% for stuff like splash and L3
