It's for the masses to enjoy the way better graphics of these upcoming games, as well as wayyy better mixed reality/passthrough, possibly even better than the quest 3. Man I hope we get Flatout sooner rather than later! A super fast and crazy racing game is *exactly* what I've been wanting for psvr2 for quite a while now. Hitman 3 looks like a day one for me, I missed out on playing it last gen cause my psvr1 borked on me before it came out. Also Beardo, I've heard quite a few people in different chats claim there IS absolutely a cockpit view in Flatout, so that shouldn't be an issue. This fall/winter is going to be VR heaven and my pennies are saved up and ready to go.

You know something. To all flat-screen gamers who say VR is not worth it and is dead, I say one thing they usually have no reply to. That is, if they don't like VR or think VR is not proper gaming but short and shallow experiences, I say, if they've got a headset/gaming PC they can play their favourite flat-screen games on a giant immersive life-size screen in most cases in full-depth 3D, and actually BE in the games they love. You love Cyberpunk 2077? No problem. Virtual Desktop + Reshade Superdepth 3D injector and you're in CP Heaven!!!

Seeing that racing game made me realize made me realize what game I want in VR that I had never considered before, Twisted Metal..... Honestly I would take any kind of Twisted Metal game but VR would be pretty awesome. Twisted Metal 2 was one of my all time favorite games and I've been hoping for years they would make more games, really thought with the show coming out we might get one but it's not looking like it.

Apparently (according to a journalist with a good reputation for leaking info), Firesprite (the makers of The Persistence and Horizon Call of the Mountain) were making a new Twisted Metal game, but it got cancelled when Sony did a big round of layoffs a few months back. It was (again, allegedly) supposed to be a live-service multiplayer game, which means it likely wouldn't have supported PSVR 2 anyway. Still, it was sad news.

I'm over zombie shooters in VR. Aliens looks cool, can see myself dying in it and then giving up in fear. Behemoth is the best game here, looking forward to it. Wrath could be fun. I liked Flatout on the flat screen, I would give it a go in VR.

Yeah, I heard someone describe it as Hitman 64 and that still cracks me up. Not totally accurate, but it sure doesn't look good. I played Hitman 3 on PSVR 1, and it looked miles better than this. If they nail the VR controls this time around (third time's the charm?) they should really patch the PC VR version and port it to PSVR 2.

People think that VR is dead because it's niche. You usually need a PC to even use a VR, other than that it's fairly expensive and the technology is all still relatively new. PC gaming used to be extremely niche too, because it was so expensive (it's still expensive but within the realm of possibility). VR will not die, it literally is the next generation of gaming. So many people wish that they could be in their games, VR allows you to do that to a point. It'll blow up when everyday people can easily buy them.

Ofcourse they will. They are vr lovers themself and know what vr lovers want. I think flat2vr studio is what vr needs. If they convinced already 4 studios to go for a vr version of the same flat game it's always a win win situation. So i think i buy as much games from them just to show game studios vr is possible 2 and extra money doesn't hurt any gaming company.

Here's how I see things. Aliens in first person is great, because the main attraction is the alien. Batman in first person is a waste of time. The main attraction has become a pair of hands. Would have been better off just providing native hmd support for existing arkham games and keep it 3rd person. There is zero chance that a pair of hands is going to look as cool as seeing batman fully animated in 3rd person

14:38 "and fire two guns at once" thats a downside unless its a cool arcade retro shooter imho. i mean, sure, allow firing two guns at once, but if they are big assualt rifles they should be super innacurate and rise up uncontrollably or even fly out of your hands. because irl firing guns like that would be impossible. and in any vr game that takes itself seriously, it would just feel cheesy and take you out of the experience. but thats just my opinion, which i accept to be an unpopular one.

Like others have said, Gears 5 doesn't work with UEVR. This is likely because the game uses an altered/custom version of the engine. That said, I most certainly wouldn't mind getting videos that highlight a bunch of games that work well with the UEVR injector mod.

We have always alien isolation to go back to. But hmmm roguelite isn't my cup of tea. But maybe they surprise us. But i don't expect a story driven game of 8 hours. But generated rooms of a spaceship with aliens, get in, get killed. Upgrade and go back in new generated room go on till you die. Upgrade go back in a new generated room and on and on. You can create any ip into these kinda games just change the enemies into another big ip. Turn them into gremlins and a new gremlin vr game could release on quest. Hope i am wrong!

Now beardo, im not gonna single just you out because every other content creator has pretty much done the same thing...but silent north is a damn DayZ clone and nobody seems to know that, lol...while i understand dayz is kind of a niche game with a cult following, its been around on pc an console for years, and people should really know thats what silent north is, lol...a hardcore pvpve survival game with crafting and lots of meter management...dayz makes green hell look like childs play as far as survival goes, and is very mil-sim like in its weaponry and combat, throw in zombies and scavenging for materials and loot, and there you have dayz, and hopefully silent north really does it justice in trying to bring that into vr...

That's what happens when the market leader is a standalone device powered by spruced up cell phone hardware, and the market is propped up by underfunded indie studios. It's unfortunate, but that's where VR is at the moment. Hopefully things change soon. There are a good handful of promising looking games coming out before the end of the year, and price cuts/more affordable hardware could start to shift things in the right direction.

@michelverheijen6643 Ignoring R&D for VR alone, Quest 2 brought mass-market interest into VR with over 20 million sold. This happened during a time where VR was essentially dying. Horizons is w/e, but that was only a fraction of the $50bln Meta has poured into VR. VR would be even more niche without Quest.

None of the games from the VR showcase seemed... interesting.... remakes and conversions, or attempts to bring all that multiplayer PvP shite to VR but without really looking like they are doing anything new and interesting with VR ... you could just as easily play these all on flat screen and not notice a difference. They still all seem like tech demos for the most part.

standalone and a lot of console/oculus games are pretty much shovelware, most good things you'll find are on steam, and you do not need a quest 3 at all. much better to settle on a quest 2, it's a shame the meta headsets are the only real affordable options

Most of these games are coming to PC VR. He lists the platforms for each game along with their title in the bottom left corner of the screen. Not many PC VR exclusives these days though. Quest is where the money is. The only one I could list off the top of my head is Gunman Contracts, which is PC VR and flat screen. And there's a couple games that are PC VR and PSVR 2 only, like Arken Age and Aces of Thunder.

@@ritchski1 Yeah it really is unfortunate. I had high hopes that PSVR 2 could have brought a mainstream option for higher fidelity VR and sold well enough that more developers would focus on PS5/PSVR 2 and PC VR. Sadly Sony dropped the ball in some big ways and that hasn't happened. At this point, I think the best we can hope for is that mobile VR hardware gets strong enough that it stops limiting the scope, ambition, and design of games, and developers (or the mod community) can add high fidelity graphics to the versions of games that run on more powerful hardware.
