Vi😮sited my local shops this week, horrified to find budget boot sale rejects for seven pounds and up. Chances are they'll be there in a year's time.

I tried vinyl a year ago and gave up because of the prices. I bought a Pat Metheny album for £15 and one side had a scratch through a track that I really liked. I went to a general hardware store just down the road who had a large collection of vinyl, expecting to pay maybe £8 -9 per album. He wanted between £20 -45 per album and these are 2nd hand. I can get 3 CDs from ebay for £15 and most of the time they work fine. I gave away my turntable. I liked the sound from what I heard, it was a 1982 JVC turntable I bought. I just didn't like the cost and the fact people are ripping people off for something inferior.

my best Classical find was the Beethoven Violin Concerto - Mischa Elman soloist on London from the early 1950's- absolute masterpiece.

I purchased my Holst Halle album in Woolworths in 1980 for £3.99. So £4 isn’t bad.

£3.99 then is about £20 now so yes good point. It is a cool jacket design I must admit.

Apologies yet again for synching problems.

Similar to my area. Flea markets will charge premium because they don't know the market, my favorite record store prices almost all classical at 99 cents otherwise it will never sell

I'd give ANYTHING from ANY source a clean before putting it on the turntable and playing first, a lot of muck us unseen without assistance - you never know where theyve been.

Presumably you mean a proper clean, not just a wipe.

10 for an Alfred Scholz record ? Are they out of their mind ?

Any Alfred Scholz recording, no matter how good it may sound, is a 50p record or CD all day long.
