if they didn't put any hub centric rings you will feel a slight vibration at high speeds, you should always put some on after market wheels

So a wheel cap is rice but a tow hook that's not good for towing is fine.....
@Chayness6 жыл бұрын
lol good point. I guess to everyone their own. I don't like these center caps cuz I wish it would have been a simple design or maybe even a letter. The whole large text name brand throws me off. Than again, someone thought the lugs were rice? Can't please everyone. And the tow hook honestly should be fine for towing but I personally wouldn't chance it.
@giovannic18216 жыл бұрын
What are centric rings needed for? Centric rings are needed when the hub hole (the center bore) on the rim is larger than the wheel hub of the car. The rim manufacturers deliberately make the hub ring as large as possible for the rim, taking in to consideration the hub hole, to allow the same rims to be sold for the various different models of car using hub centric rings.
@Chayness6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. I've honestly never needed them before on any set of rims but these I deff need to get considering the center bore was quite different. I'll make a video on that soon and give you a shout out! Thanks bro!

are there a lot of aftermarket parts for the veloster? what's the average combined mpg that you've noticed? what are the top 3 problems about the veloster? maintenance problems? expensive fixes? does it snow where you live? if so, how does it handle in snow?
@Chayness3 жыл бұрын
Does not snow where I live. Avoid the 2013, Average MPG is about 28MPG for me. Lots and lots of aftermarket support and problems.... A tune makes the drive better, Traction Control is too aggressive at times, and Small Turbo. No major issues unless you get a 2013 as those had a somewhat 50/50 chance of blowing up (Turbo Model only).

@@Chayness i had a 2013 turbo constantly frying spark plugs like high end plugs. I was always afraid it was gonna do some sketchy stuff. glad it didnt blow up.

Wheel caps aren't rice. its cosmetic and makes the car pop. the tow hook wouldn't be rice if you get a strong one and its tightened well with good nuts. that tow hook looks kinda awkward though cuz its all thin and cheap looking. overall, nice look. I am about to start modifying my Veloster. mostly cosmetic and a little performance for now. Front/rear/side carbon fiber splitters, tint, megan racing lowering springs, MBRP XP 409 exhaust and a BOV. going to add an intercooler and air intake with a tune later down the road.
@Chayness5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a solid plan. I said the comment about the wheel caps in regards to MY wheels. My wheels are nice but the brand, being a cheaper brand, has a nasty logo (to my taste) and the way they have it on the wheel caps.... again, not to my taste. The tow hook can be functional, you're right. I just felt like unless your car has quite a few serious mods, it looks misplaced. But my personal opinion on my particular look lol.

@Chayness6 жыл бұрын
I'm selling them actually. And yea they're 18"s
@cichlidaemayhem35736 жыл бұрын
They look ok I guess, the red looks ricey IMO. Could of at least went with some lightweight Enkei's. These knockoff, heavy wheels are a downgrade from the stock wheels.. They will probably break if you go over a pot hole. Also wouldn't recommend lowering springs, that will also be a downgrade over stock. Rides gonna be harsh as fuck. Just save up, do it the right way and get coilovers. You'll thank me later. Function over form is what I go by and it hasn't let me down yet... But your car your mods. Thanks for the informative videos BTW.
@Chayness6 жыл бұрын
I won't lie. I kinda felt the same right after they went on but for now.... i'll live with it lol. As far as the rims.... I do plan on buying some nicer rims. I bought these because I got them INSANE cheap (the price of a single rim basically) and I was tired of rolling on the stock ones so these too will stay for now lol. They weigh the same as the stock VT rims so it's actually no real loss in that department. As far as the comment about springs. I feel too many people are so badly informed on this matter. While I agree with your statement if you were talking about an aggressive spring (Eibachs come to mind), a 1" drop won't drastically negatively effect things as much as people believe. It WILL wear certain places much faster (and even more so if you drop beyond 1.5") but thats a given, even if you went with coilovers. The reason why I currently don't care for coilovers is because I don't plan on tracking the car, you will experience a harsher ride either way, and actually... if you go with springs and Koni Yellow shocks (a tried and tested combo on MANY cars now). You will actually get ride comfort back which is perfect for STREET applications. If you plan on tracking any car though, coilovers are the way to go. For me.... I guess thats my form over function because many people get coils but will never track the car and most regret the harsh ride. For street, if you MUST go aggressive, though much more expensive, you're better for bagging the car to get low. Otherwise, I'm a huge supporter of springs and Koni Yellows. But once I lower the car i'll make a video and be transparent about it. For sure my shocks will die out much faster than stock but i'll be sure to be honest about that stuff come year two lol. Thanks for the feedback and time to comment though. I greatly appreciate and love talking and hearing to viewers opinions and concerns!

@Chayness6 жыл бұрын
I bought them at a local performance shop in San Diego called Pann Auto. You can order them online though. Look up Muteki Lug Nuts. They're pretty common, decent, and cheap as opposed to other options but heads up, painted ones, the paint wears out quick and chips easily. You get what you pay for.

Bro what are the dimensions of your rims?
@Chayness6 жыл бұрын
They are 18" x 8", +38 offset. Lug pattern is 5x114.30 and center bore is 72.60. This wheel spec is perfect for sitting flush on lowering springs. Any lower than springs and you might rub. If you want help finding the perfect wheel specs for what you need (or if it will fit/clear), check this out.
