Party Trick!- when reversing the reversing lights project two dotted white lines on the road to some 2 metres behind the car-makes the manoeuvre the car is about to do highly visible say if coming out of a perpendicular parking space! Party Trick - the courtesy puddle lights on unlocking the car project the Genesis logo on the ground illuminating the area infront of each front door. Party Trick! - the shade for the panoramic roof (optional extra which really helps with the airiness of darker interiors) when closing meets in the centre. Party Trick! - a long press of the unlock button on the key fob will lower all the windows. A long press on the lock button will close them all if any were open! Party Trick! The vehicle to load has both an inside 3.6kW capability 3 pin plug and the adaptor for the charger socket so you can get 3.6kW outside the car too. And the charger indicator is 8 segments giving an indication of charge state in very informative 12.5% steps Just a beautiful car.

@@shreeshsaurya4203 no idea, im not trading up till 2025 for the gv70 electric or the gv80 coupe if they do an electric version. It would be fair to say that all electric cars purchased before 2024 will probably depreciate a bit more than normal as there are so many more choices now, especially from china. But new adopters like me knew that going in. No regrets i love my car
@Antiguan_Dart
@Antiguan_Dart 2 ай бұрын
The GV70 at 4715mm in length which is 200 mm longer than the GV60 (4515mm) and only available in all wheel drive it has a larger boot 503L over the GV60’s 432L. But as it is not a bespoke platform that extra length doesn’t translate to any appreciable extra rear cabin space. A huge bonnet which would house the upto 3.5L twin turbo V6 of the ICE version is wasted in the electric incarnation. I think a future new platform GV70 would fair better cabin space wise. If I needed a larger car I would be waiting for that. The GV60 is fairly compact so may not suit large families into camping - simply not enough boot space for 4 and all their camping luggage.
@Antiguan_Dart

@@richardjohnson7900many a saloon car doesn’t have a rear wiper which has been the case for decades. The GV60 duck tail spoiler does prevent turbulence swirl depositing in the rear window unlike some cars.

I have afully specced Genesis Electrified G80 since July '22 and whilst a completely different model albeit from the same brand and I have found exactly the same consumption in summer and winter driving. Having owned Jaguar's for some twenty years and a Maserati for seven years I have to say the Genesis is the best car I've owned. Finally to get around the Apple Carplay issue I use a wireless adaptor which automatically connects to my phone via Bluetooth.

Hello Nicola , great review I also have a GV 60 in Canada I have the Advance twin motors here in Canada they only come in one trim the high end Napa Leather . Now we get a lot of rain here on Vancouver Island and I do not have any problem with the back window the trick is to turn the heat on and it stays clear, also no problem with the face camera opening the door but you first have to push the button on the door handle. I have had my car 18 months aprox 20K miles or 35K klm the car has not missed a beat in the summer I am get 300+ mile or 500 klm for range I lose about 20% to 25% in the winter . I had an Ioniq 5 on order but it never came I got fed up waiting for it I called Genesis got the GV 60 with in two days , all I can say is I am very happy the Ioniq 5 did not come this GV 60 is so fat ahead of it , yes its more money but for me its worth it. I am very happy with car we are very lucky in BC Canada with free charging I have not paid for any in 14 months .

The Genesis GV60 has a fault which means that, depending upon the angle the car is parked when it rains, water gets into the cabin air filter. This prevents air getting into the cabin and means the windscreen can’t demist. For us this made for a dangerous journey at night time in the rain on a motorway. We rejected our first car because of this. Two intermediate loan cars had the problem and our new car (later model year) also has the problem. We were the first owners to identify this and now others are seeing the problem. Genesis UK have acknowledged the problem and say the factory is working on a fix. They have not given a date for the fix and not said if they will proactively retrofit it to all existing cars. This demonstrates the problem. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZeQYYqLe6t3qrs

Going to add here and yes you do know who I am from the same forums. Yes some people suffer from this and you were unlucky but most of us how found we do not suffer from the same problem. At least Genesis UK were able to replicate it and hopefully Genesis Korea will get it sorted so yours will be fixed and others will stop getting the same issue.

@@video-carl in the UK the cables are the granny (emergency cable allowing you to plug into a normal 13A three pin residential socket) and a type 2 plug for fast public chargers which aren’t tethered. So upto the individual leave cables at home and just use tethers type 2 fast chargers or rapid chargers ( which are always cabled).

Just discovered this review as am considering a (2nd hand) GV60 - nice review & very entertaining! Still trying to decide whether to go try it out for real. I’m currently 3 years into EV ownership, and a lot of things on the GV60 appear better than what I currently have, but others? Well…. 320 mile range in Summer is good, but 220 in Winter???? I’m struggling to see how that could be acceptable… and 3.8 miles per KwH is the best it can do???? Talking of party tricks - is there a Dog Mode? If not, why not - I’m struggling to see how this continues to be ignored across the whole industry….

Love mine - I was an early UK buyer of the Premium (RWD) model - near fully specced though it meant I had to pay extra for then uprated seats - was well worth it, I also upgraded to the Nappa leather. Now might part regret not getting red, the dark grey I have is very similar to my previous 4 cars so works for me but I do like red cars. Just wish mine came with the air recirc conditioning as that was new mid last year and not backwardly compatible.

It doesn't has a crystal ball, or massaging seats, or facial recognition, or tunnel air circulation, or heated rear seats, but… it has greater range, is more spacious, has side-by-side cupholders, and boasts a digital rear window wiper to compensate for no rear window wiper. I do think one improvement that's needed in these E-GMP vehicles is to allow the i-Pedal setting to STILL be engaged the next time you start the car.

Honest question, Nicola: Could you keep this car for 20 or more years and be content that you had a keeper, forever? I'm going to guess yes, except there are gadgets that might fail like the massage seats and that crystal ball. EVs like this are excessive and expensive, but if people could be lifetime buyers then they would be sustainable from the fueling (on strictly renewable energy) and the production standpoint. If we buy new ones every 3 years, they will be unsustainable as the constant stream of replacement vehicles will make it NOT cost effective to keep the gadget riddled cars on the road as they age and have expensive fixes. I know that one's intended to be a review car.

How can losing about 30% of range in winter (a 50% higher loss than the EV average, which you stated to be 20%) be OK? Also, maxing out at about 3.8 miles per kWh and going down to just over 3 on motorway driving seems somewhat inefficient. I expected better figures; perhaps your partner has some validity in his concerns about your driving?😊 (In its first 5000 miles of ownership since August, my sub £40k EV is averaging over 4 miles per kWh on a mix of M'way and A road driving - cold weather loss has been less than 20%).

My SR model 3 has averaged 4.5 miles per KWh over 22 months and 68,000 miles. That’s what I call efficiency and all for under £40,000…

to be fair most EVs I've ever owned have lost between a third and half of their range in winter and if you told me that ANY electric car could do over 200 miles in the winter when I bought my first EV I would have laughed at you

So with regards to the loss of mileage in winter…’on average EVs lose 21%’ this car however has lost 31.4% (101 miles) so no that’s not alright Nicola! This makes it well below average according to your figures. Other than that, nice one!
