WaXx (purple) was pumping units to the front as the eco player because it was going to fall. If you watch the replay, his T2 bots held the line for a long time. Not defending him, but he did have to delay his eco to "16min AFUS" because of that. Also I did give up seaplanes because rickuhh didn't go water, so I had to contest it with shipyard units in the cove. Forgot to recycle my seaplanes lab though. Funny thing is I was also testing seaplanes as a strategy to help both seas instead of only being able to help win one side. So we were both testing strats in the same game lol. GG @Drongo, big fan. Hope to see you around soon hanging with us lobsters.

Honestly, i am a total noob, but i won't ever join on a game with Drongo, he always acts like super selfish. Doesn't look fun to have him in your team at all. Doesn't justify griefing of course, but yea..

WaXx didn't self-d his base, he got bombed. Look at the minimap at 36:27, you can see it happen and hear the bombers drop their bombs. That being said, the griefing is unacceptable.

I see so many people jumping into rushed conclusions in this game it is ridiculous. And not even people playing, but coments from the spectators who see so much more stuff and you would think they could do better but no. Everyone is right the first time and willing to die on each and every hill they can see. I don't get how much confidence one must have to spew judgment all over the place like that.

@@Etruscots people are trying their best to be a smartass. But when you take a look from a further point of view all their takes are really bad. It all just feels right in the moment but holds no value at all. Is the same as everywhere else really. Outside the game I mean. Basically people need to learn humility and stop pumping their already inflated egos.

If you go seaplanes in the pond like that and you're using that for offensive power rather than eco and mobile build power superiority then you need two to three platforms, and you want to spam bombers from one, scouts/fighters from another, and gunships from the third; if you need to help contest or you end up being the only one on your team to contest sea then you're going to want torpedo bombers with scout/fighter/stealth escorts and attack from center of the sea outwards with the shores being the last areas targeted (consider bombers for that part). If you end up in the position where none of the other team members are contesting the sea then you need to clear and defend a shipyard/hover position in the ocean sooner than later. For air players, I highly recommend practicing the Cortex Nighthawk+Condor swarm spam strategy; you can break AA defenses with enough Nighthawks and sufficient visibility of the targets by radar or line of sight. The Nighthawk's stealth ability generally means it gets to fire at least one shot before it is shot down; it's specific use case is to take out AA or special value targets; pairs really nicely with aircraft repair pads and retreat at 80%; in TA I'd use the patrol command on the construction platform to send nighthawks back and forth between an enemy target and the repair pads; the reason why is that some of the nighthawks will get destroyed but likely will get a shot off whereas any that survive should fly back to where the new ones are getting constructed so you have higher statistical probability of more than one nighthawk escorting another, so if they survive on average the swarm gets bigger and does more damage to targets making survival more likely. Bomber+Scout/Fighter spamming streams can be devastating. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to make it work with the atomic bombers (they start with hold-fire). Scout streams are an air strategy 101; ideally, you want two or three platforms streaming scouts out to test where the defensive boundaries are and where air can enter critical air or sea spaces uncontested; this more generally identifies places where ground units can enter uncontested or sea/hover units can go uncontested or with sonar where submersible units can go uncontested, and you need be testing and updating that continuously because opponents will either appropriately respond to air threats with AA or they won't and either way you need to know as an air player. One basic practice is to put scouts/sonar on patrol around the boundaries of your team's territory to give them periodic visibility of just beyond the boundaries of the team defenses/buildings/claims; if a player has snipers/artillery that periodically get a peak of the far end of the front line for example obviously more damage is done. Tick spam is obvious b/c the damage they do directly, but air scout spam is less obvious (harder to hit with anti-scout) because the damage has to be done by other things. Scout guards for land/sea/hover units can be fantastic as well as fighter/gunship guards (like for say a flagship).

Drongo, some advice from my air understanding: - try to not spread fighters as much, critical mass seems to more efficient if the enemy spreads. Prob. due to range limits or so. Different if they got flak ofc. Would love an in depth air micro video btw. - no bombing run without scouts leading the way. They are cheap and make the run so much more efficient - try to set first bomber target asap so you have more time/apm to micro scouts and figs

Also, kinda feel like if you and teammate get your fighters wiped by enemy fighters, you probably should immediately throw up some AA of your own.

He didn't control-D his own base, it was hit with bombers. You can see the green bombers on the map when his base blows. He did however attack you intentionally instead of just leaving, which is ban worthy I think.

also if you just want to rush one unit at a time you can guard the unit being built and not the building and it will continue the build queue after that unit is completed

Not enough players build AA and instead rely on the air player to cover the whole map then blame the air player for their base getting bombed lol

The whole purpose of having an air player is to prevent enemy bombing runs. Spending large amount of metal individually on AA is metal not spent on units or econ. Seeing how those two expenditures is usually what defines in one way or another which team wins it seems rather important to minimize spending outside that. If your air player is massively outplayed by the enemy you have to do what you have to do. But lets recognize that in doing so you give the enemy team a huge advantage.

@@BalzyGPlaysBar-uw7tc Idk, peace of mind for your team by expending only like 4000 metal for 5 flak cannons after 16 min mark seems like quite a good trade. Even if your air player is god like he can't cover every possible angle all the time, and for your team spending that amount of resource is a drop in the bucket.

@@Etruscots 4k x 7 is 28k, almost a juggernaut. You make it sound like its normal for air to be 1v7. They usually just against one other player. Let me switch the logic up abit... do you place down shields randomly to protect from flagships and lol cannons unless they are scouted or you have reason to believe they are coming such as loosing sea? I mean peace of mind and all that. Do you make 4 or 5 antinukes on the regular incase they trying to overwhelm with no evidence? These are all the same line of reasoning. Now again if your air player is simply loosing you have to do what you have to do... Same loosing a sea... or scouting out 12 nuke launchers in back... But the team that is having to spend their resources on these things more than the other is the team that has probably lost.

@@BalzyGPlaysBar-uw7tc Shredder is 450, getting 4-5 and placed in front of your base is usually enough to stop the bombing run or significantly help out your air player in winning the defensive fight. On glitters or straigt set of 4-5 AA veh/bots is usually enough to cover 2 bases too.

battle mechs are actually pretty good I accidentally skipped the t2 lab and went strait to the gantry funded by reclaim. The battle mech stomped the t1 my opponents had.

Tidal have a fixed energy value depending on the map. So for example tidal may be 20. Where wind fluctuates between 0-16, an average of 8.

Tidal energy production is a consistent value and is pre-determined by the map settings. Wind production varies during the game. Leading to stalling or overflowing at different times in the game.

Also, the amount of wind and amount of tidal changes between maps. If a map has 5-10 wind and 18 tidal, it is easy to say one is better than the other. Other factoids: apparently game average for wind is >7. And tidal is considered outright better than fusion at (I think) 26.

On strait (21 tide), tidal generators beat standard fusion reactors in terms of metal and energy efficiency. You can get them very early and easily too. You can skip regular fusion power entirely, and start getting good constant energy without relying on wind (great for Cortex) or terrible solar from the very start.

More consistent and better efficiency. The average wind speed on this map is 14.2 e/sec (which can vary greatly) while the tidals give a steady 21 e/s.

Seems lots of people don't want to waste their time waiting for or making another lobby, so they forcefully end your game with a team resign to blow up everything once they're destroyed before even giving backline players a chance to rebound the game. Team resign is highly annoying in this game. People can't stand having their base lost even if the game is still winnable they'll force the loss on you for it. Team resign is the game's built in way to destroy your own allies without the ban you'd get for attacking them with units. No units required to do so, just a quick vote from a majority of the team.

Well, hopefully they find him and ban him. I've had super bad games where I've wanted to go ahead and just resign but my team didn't want to and never did that. And, occasionally, we rallied and won. Point is, don't be a dick.

yah Drongo's pretty new at air play. He could have done so much more damage with his bombers, but they stopped in the middle. He still got 3 good bombing runs in and dealt some eco damage.

Griefing to kill the final Com after your teams entire eco has been wiped and they're hiding underwater and refuse to resign really isn't 'griefing' imo. It's not like that guy was tilted, he said some stuff in chat but was fighting tooth and nail and single handedly kept Drongo alive basically the entire game.

Yeah definitely was. I have to imagine if he wasn't recording he would have resigned. He kept saying this is unwinnable and didn't resign. Griefing to kill the last commander after your team has 110% lost is imo just BM more than bannable griefing, but understand why it's just a flat rule and not nuanced.

Had a guy get mad that he lost frontline, I said, you should have built units instead of static defense spam. He built about 100+ dragon teeth and some LLTs. He was low level and I wasn't flaming, just giving advice. He spammed out rezbots and started reclaiming ally bases. Pretty lit game.

The problem that I have with this game is the long duration of a single match and the hard lack of coordination that all the teams appear to have. Has perfect RTS mechanics but is not perfectly enjoyable for me.

The dark side of BAR. When toxic players attack before you've built up 30 minutes of echo. Technically not against the game's rules, but it's very unsportsmanlike and is frowned upon in the community.

Drongo, I Highly recommend downloading that widget shows you single team colour, ally green and enemy red, much better. Maybe you don't even need widget, maybe its implemented in the game also.

there is a build in enemie highlight option.. you can leave the colors enabled and enemies get a red glow.

Commanders need to be tougher and have more range. Hate that about SupCom and BAR. You are teleporting a critical combat unit in to a hot LZ. You would give it every chance to survive long enough to get a base up if the enemy already does. I would say 10x HP, 2x range, and 4x damage. Two best FAF mods make the commander bigger and have the ability to shoot air.

Want to get into the next game to go again. Watching the enemy slow roll as your Ally fights for every inch knowing there's 0% chance of turning it around is a waste of everyone's time. I'm def not in favor of resigning as soon as it looks bad, but when your teams eco is completely wiped and the enemy has never been touched...just resign man.
