Morel Mushroom Hunting 2022 (GREAT START)

Dad and I decided to get out for a mushroom hunting and ended up scoring a decent mess.

I found hundreds of morels the past 3 weeks and I'm still finding a pile but in different areas.

Nice harvest guys!! Gotta love them maple trees. Lots of good info for the newbies. Have you ever hunted sycamore trees?I've found multi pound patches under them many times. You alls area looks a lot like it does here in south central Illinois. Found a few good ones today but hoping to find a bunch of them bigguns like you all found when I go tomorrow. Good Luck!!

I check sycamores also, but the maples and elms never treat me bad...and it should look familiar to you....I’m in Macoupin Co. 🤠

Do Silver Maples through off Morels? Wasn't aware Maples drew them! Great to know. I'm in southwest Michigan. And we don't usually see anything till mid May! Makes for a very short season:((
