You can blame new truck market for this bull. 60k for a Silverado King ranches for 110k (ain't nobody got time for that) so you search and get you a square body from a farmer in your neck of the woods crack open the LMC, or Brothers or the Filling station catalog and 25k later You've saved 50k I made that bad mistake cause I was into sci Fi stuff and old cars..... And went looking for a 59 Caddy coupe.... (trombone sound here) now there equal to a AMG Benz

Vintage vehicle market here in Denver is insane. I bought a 73 daily driver Chevy C30 from my neighbor, excellent runner driver with many new parts (some not installed) for $2500. It’s increasing in value quickly

It's amazing how much old stuff you guys can still find lying around over there. It's getting pretty hard to find interesting vehicles here in UK these days and when you do the prices are absolutely stupid. Yeah NC has crazy prices for trucks and anything 4wd. Not even clean Nissan with 230k? But it's lifted? 8k. Toyotas even worst, diesels are all 12k plus for a shitbox.

Never realized that old Chevy pickups are so collectible. I remember when 73 Chevy pickups never made it into the 1980s because you could see right through to the other side from rust holes.

I grew up in Massachusetts and all those trucks were being scrapped at ten years old because they had rusted in half. My C30 is a lifelong Colorado truck, has some body rust but the underside is mint. I’ll keep that one for the duration

at 23:37 that '86 Silver-Rado is exactly like the one I got given to me in 2003-04 came with very straight body, California cramper edition, no rust,few dings, scratches, Original colors 2 tone Canyon Copper/Saddle Tan fully loaded, dual tanks,sliding rear window tilt,,AC, PWR everything, chrome bumpers-ettes also etc..had that weakling POS 305ci 700R4. last year Quadra-junko electronic POS Rochester. that truck was awesome but that Mtr sucked fuel like a BB and was worthless and Gut less too. needless to say I burned her down. Left on side of road, burning.. burned up.Cremated. Good Riddance POS 1986 C-10 Silver-Crapo. No more. C-10's for me as I've had a few. But I miss the '64 C-10 long box.350ci/TH350. She was my Custom Cab favorite.

My dad,uncles and grandpa all drove square body Chevys and GMCs in the 80’s when I was a kid. I remember going with my dad to buy two new ones. I owed a 1979 chevy K10 in the late 90’s and a 1987 Sierra 2nd swb. Both were excellent condition. Should have kept them.

my father had 6 square bodies from a 74 3/4 ton, 79 single rear 1 ton, my favorite was his 80 3/4 ton 4x4. a 75 1/2 ton, 76 1/2 ton, and finally a 87 3/4 ton

I don't know how clean those trucks actually are... but if they're rust free Texas trucks, those things sold CHEAP. Take a look at eBay, your local Craigslist and FB marketplace, and a nice rust-free square body, regardless of drivetrain and cab configuration usually brings anywhere from 10-30k.

Auction mania still rules, eh? I went to a Toronto City auction one time and ex ambulance service Cherokees were going for $19,000. Interiors were trashed and someone had taken a scraper to the stripes. Bought a 'Truck trader' on the way home and there were Ltd Cherokees of the same year at the same price. One guy asked me what the warrantee was and was shocked when I told him there were 'as is'.

Dude that 60-66 gmc v6 is a beast it was designed as a true truck engine. If you would take a bit of time and learn about the 305 and 351 v6 engines you might be impressed they both had better power than the Ford or Chevy options of the day. They are a big block bore and have a nice deep growl.

For all those E car praisers out there. The GoPro batteries as well as the car batteries are the same. You lose at least 20% of your battery life and, if you've failed to realize, the range is figured out in optimal conditions. No rain, during the day w/o the heat or A/C, no headlamps etc. There's a video of a guy who bought a Lightning and the claimed range while hauling a Model A on an Aluminum car hauler lost more than half the supposed range. 2 trips about 60 miles each way would have been dead before getting home. Invest in Hotels people cause all these morons will need them.

my close friend that died recently built at least 10 square bodies. Everyone of them from parts. He sold them all, every vehicle butterscotch and cream was his standard color combo 350 automatics. Six were four-wheel. Some full power cab no air in any of them. all came with custom made rear window gun racks

I used to buy those old 4x4 blazers for a few hundred . I probably owned 10 of them from a 72 to 96. My fav was the 72 . But the mid 80's blazers were much better on mpg. I had a 76 that got 10/11 mpg . Good vid .

If I had the money I would've gotten the 68 pickup bcause I was born in 68 & put a big block V8 in it & make it a manual 4 on the floor dual exhaust,repaint it & fix anything that's wrong with the cab & bed,put different wheels on it but keep the original ones

I think i would have went with that sweet OBS regular cab step side. Always thought that was a sharp setup. Definitely have to find some different wheels though ;) I had a 78 C20 for a couple years that i really liked- put a 87 Firebird TPI setup on it, MSD ignition and a Comp RV cam managed to get 13MPG out of it with a Turbo 400 great truck until i accidentally ran it into a power pole :/ My favorite square bodies are the ones with the 4 square headlights.

Everyone has the same idea and all want squarebodies now. That and they're not as rusty. I like the one with the woodgrain doors though it can't be good with the windshield not sealed. Basically they're all great though, hard to pick, I do like the 80s pickups the most.

2wd trucks always seemed useless to me. I guess if you want to give up gas mileage for a loaded down bed for just a smidge more traction I guess you're good. You like steel rims so your opinions on rims don’t carry much weight. The very first thing we use to do was get rid of the steel wheels and hub caps. Scrap iron, I still scrap them every chance I get. I wish I could round them all up so I would never see another one.

VERY nice collection! I suspect that thanks to the internet, there are no secrets nationally. Get a guy or two from a large midwestern city and suddenly a small town $500-750 rig goes into the $1,000's. You made some excellent buys - love that steering column. That crew cab was pri-CEY. Had a chance to pick up an '87 crew cab in great shape a couple of years ago for $2K down here and I just @#$%ed up. That said, can't go wrong with a crew. Very cool episode, left me drooling. Kudos to the seller for really thinking about the needs of the buyer - just a one-stop shop for all things square-body.

I would have grabbed that rusty ‘63, even if it was just to drive it into the ground. I had an old rust bucket ‘63 for years that I just drove anyway until the floor gave out on me. It was so cooked, but I had a lot of fun with that old pile.
