As a passionate biker myself, thank you for making this tribute and reminding me the dangers of riding. It always saddens me to hear about someone on a motorcycle dying. Will I stop riding? not likely, but I try to be as safe as possible while riding and it's good to be reminded about how seriously I need to be about paying attention and riding safe. Riding is a selfish pleasure of mine, but for the sake of my friends and family, I want to do what I can to minimize my risks while doing so.
@jeremysumrak18422 жыл бұрын
I’ve been riding for 14 years. A lot of close calls over those years. A few spills that weren’t much of anything. As everyone older than me told me when I started, “It’s not if you go down, but when.” Of course, it’s also “and how severe?” Sad to hear. Be safe out there, 2-Wheelers.
@godofcod2day2 жыл бұрын
It’s also selfish in the sense that you could potentially ruin someone else’s life if they hit u in the bike. If you suffered severe trauma just cause someone bumped you as they were changing lanes, then the guilt would eat them up. Driving a car instead of a motorcycle would make others less anxious. I lowkey hate how people on motorcycles could potentially cause me much guilt over a small mistake on the road I could make, just for a little fun.

When we were 20, my best friend decided to get a 1000cc bike and go over 150mph pretty much on the daily and run away from cops as a hobby. He had it for about A MONTH and one weekend it was just me and him chilling on a Friday then Saturday night watching KZbin catching up after I had been away at school. The next night (on Father’s Day) he evaded some cops and they decided to chase him around a nearby town, making him crash and die. I heard the news in the morning couldn’t come to grips with it for a couple hours. I then went to his house and it all hit. His father, a classic, tough as nails Italian guy, was absolutely broken and will never be the same. If he had never gotten on a motorcycle, we would have been friends for decades to come. He was always the life of the party and the ballsiest one of the group but now he’s just a memory. If you do decide to get on a bike, don’t just think about yourself dying, but all the people you will leave behind.

Speaking as someone's who's been riding for 8yrs and still on going. No matter how defensive you ride, how loud or big your bike is, or even riding with a group, there are a lot of negligent drivers. Of course not all blame is on drivers, there are some dumb riders as well but the vast majority of close calls I have had and one major accident are all due to the drivers negligence. Also in the PNW in a large city, people constantly use their cellphones and don't use signals. They drive in the left lane instead of passing too, meaning you need to unsafely pass in the right lane. It's scary the amount of people that don't even shoulder check. I think there is an inherent base level of risk when you ride just due to the fact you have no cage around you. How you ride determines how much risk others will pose to you, but there's always some chaos factor to how people will react. One thing I personally try to avoid is speeding around intersections and even cross streets. Drivers turning left is probably one of the most common accidents I've seen and heard of. People are just really bad judges of speed, and it gets worse the faster you go. This advice works not just for motorcycles but for cars too. Stay safe folks, and may Ryeley rest in peace.

I'm 28 years old and only started bodybuilding 2 years ago but I admired his work ethic and attitude and always thought hes from my hometown and going to do big things. He helped me understand that anyone can follow their dreams if they just put in the work. Rip Ryeley I swear to God Im going to make it pro one day for you.

I was about to put a deposit down on a CBR600RR back when I was in the Corps. Right before I did, a chick in my unit went down and lost a leg, then shortly after that, another guy from my unit went down and ended up in a coma. I don't know if he ever woke up. Hell, my father in law was cruising down the road on his Harley and slipped on some dirt...damn near died...has a breathing hole in the front of his neck and can barely talk to this day. He wasn't even doing anything weird...just cruising along. Life is risky. Indeed. That's why I avoid egregious, excessive risk. Hard pass on bikes. Keep stories like these in mind if you're thinking about riding. It's anecdotal, but there are a LOT of stories like this. At what point is it no longer anecdotal?... Be safe out there, everyone. Really sad to hear about this kid. Seems like he had a really bright future. Tragic.

I crashed my motorbike back in 2017. Hit a patch of oil, the bike fish tailed and off I went. Flying head first into the road. The bike bounced onto me from behind and snapped my ankle in 3 places, also dislocating my foot from the joint. I was travelling 30mph/48kmh. Rip man
@warren010h2 жыл бұрын
Ouch man! That's just the thing about riding - you don't have to really be traveling fast at all to be in a bad accident. I try to ride as little and short a distance as possible. Risk is always there - but less seat time minimizes it to a degree.
@damarisduna2 жыл бұрын
I just don't get how that happens, as someone who rides myself going 30mph over a patch of oil something I've done many times should present no issues whatsoever unless you're literally grabbing a fistfull of front brakes aggressively.

This is just some sad shit man. I come from the Philippines, and in very poor areas, motorcycles are the only affordable things the locals can afford. Growing up, and re-visiting Philippines in 2018, I was shocked; remembering that people and kids, would ride motorcycles without a helmet or a license. I once saw 3-4 kids all ride on the same motorcycle; scared the shit out of me knowing what could’ve happened to them.

I ride a motorcycle everyday, then again I’m from India so the cars are more aware of us on the road but this video still emphasised how dangerous riding a bike is and I’ve been in multiple accidents and one where I was just sitting at the red light. Motorcycles aren’t safe. RIP brother.

As a person from South America, I find it insane how people in the US drive their cars while mindlessly scrolling through social media trying to get a dopamine hit. That's a huge reason of why accidents happen and if you happen to be on a bike, you're fucked.

Its really sad that we lost Ryeley, kid had great aspirations. I really wished there was someone to guide him with motorcycles. * from what I know he rode a blue yellow early 2000's Honda 1000rr which is is scary because that bike does not have duel channel ABS and steering damper, but has more horsepower than a frigin Porsche, poor kid was riding back on rainy snow filled road... which just stacked the odds of getting into trouble... If anyone is reading this and planning to pick up a motorcycle... take it from a guy who has clocked 100,000 km on motorcycles... start new start small... KTM 390, then a 600cc and then a 1000, and RR's when I say new... max 4 years from current year... so the electronics are good... an please please use a car when the roads have ice or its cold and raining....

When I was in the military a motorcycle was the only thing I could afford. Five of us bought bikes at the same time. I'm the only one who did not have an accident. No helmet and driving in excess of 100 mph, often. I begged for an accident but I escaped unscathed. I feel for this kid's family. As a father I know I would be crushed by such a loss.

My best friend died in a bike accident. Again, he wasn't speeding or driving like a lunatic, he caught a puddle of water and lost control of the unit, apparently the hit ruptured his spleen so badly that by the time he made it to the hospital, his condition deteriorated into a full respiratory arrest. I actually believed he was going to make it since at that time I've heard of a lot of people that had ruptured their spleens and did just fine, but apparently my dude had not only a ruptured spleen, had suffered massive blood loss, but his liver also got damaged. He died 3 days later. Since that day I went from simply not being a fan of Motorcycles to fucking hating them. There is absolutely no reason for people to take such a risk. If you accidentally crash your car, your chances of surviving are pretty good, especially if you follow the rules, but when you are on a bike, anything can kill you no matter how cautious you are. If you have the money to afford a car instead of a bike, get the damn car, you are going to thank me when bad luck strikes and something out of your power happens.

As a motorcycle rider, i can say there's no better feeling than cruising up some twisty mountain roads, having fun with your buddy's. We know the risks, we all know someone who's died or gotten a life changing injury, but it's a feeling that you can't comprehend unless you've done it. It's a shame that most people on the road are morons and make it dangerous to ride.

We know the risks, we all know someone who's died or gotten a life changing injury, but it's a feeling you can't comprehend unless you've done it. It's a shame that most people are morons and OD. When something is killing your friends, and you still do it, thats called an addiction. You really sound like you're talking about drugs. Next time another friend of mine dies on a bike, im just gonna be pissed, and spit on the rest of my friends' bikes. Considering I know more bikers who are dead than heroin users who are dead, its a fair comparison.

@gardenwarrior55242 жыл бұрын
@@sleepyjo9340 not from mine and many others personal experiences. Motorcycle riders are drug addicts for adrenaline, and they die from it all the time. I’m friends with plenty of them and have lost a close friend. There’s very few motorcyclists I’ve seen that actually drive the speed limit that don’t weave around traffic like they own the road. Especially here in Michigan with our terrible roads, it’s borderline suicidal. “Heroin related deaths” in the us is 14k per year, motorcycle deaths are 5k per year. Few people do either of those things so it’s rather comparable.
