I turned the video on but was listening through blue tooth headphones as I walked through the house and had to stop what I was doing to listen. Piano and vocal both beautiful.

So beautiful. I never knew Stevie Wonder song this song. I first heard this song when Michael on the sitcom Good Times song it at Thelmas wedding. That was a very long time ago. He is awesome on that piano, and Morgan is always awesome . Sends chills through my soul. ❤

💕 🎤 + 🎹 duet of a lovely song by Stevie Wonder (who’s original I haven’t heard)! I’m 70ish, and have been following Morgan for some time, but can tell she’s matured a lot after hearing this performance! It’s a 👍 relaxing, and ‘easy listening’ song to just chill and lay back with anytime of day/night when you’re in the mood for this music.

@@elainemeyer5062 Standing would have shown respect for herself and others (celebrityism perhaps). Inho? Really don't understand the meaning.
@elainemeyer506221 күн бұрын
@@valeriewickerson-august7474 I don’t see any reason why it would, or should, make such a big difference. Some people/artists are just more comfortable to sit rather than stand when performing. It’s not a matter of ‘respect’ imho. If anything, it’s the audience that should show their respect by not speaking, yelling, taking selfie videos and blocking other’s views and enjoyment!
@valeriewickerson-august747418 күн бұрын
@elainemeyer5062 The audience and the performers' behavior are two different topics. We are talking about the performers' behavior. Sitting briefly or as part of the choreography is acceptable. But to me it's something that can be checked at this point. If she listens to other people who tell her everything that she does is okay, her artistry will go down. So it's her decision at this point. If she continues, why bother with her. The audience: why let them bring their cell phones in. Hire a stage director who nicely (at first) gives stage clues to the audience. Most will follow direction.
@elainemeyer506218 күн бұрын
@@valeriewickerson-august7474 I still don’t agree with you on this subject. But let’s just politely show respect and stick with our OWN personal feelings on the subject of her ‘standing vs sitting’ while performing, as well as ur remark on the latter part of my comment about the audience behavior at live events.
@glennbeau25 күн бұрын
When will Morgan learn that just because you can, doesn't mean you should? I always scroll every new song of her's, searching for the part where she tries to pierce my eardrums and it's alway there. I long for her to do a song with restraint.
@elainemeyer506223 күн бұрын
Unless I misunderstood your comment, I thought she showed ‘restraint’ here, and heard NO screaming or ear piercing vocals from her in it! Overall it was a beautiful 🎤 and 🎹 duet ‘cover’! Stevie Wonder on the other hand, would probably have done what you’re describing 🤔.
@johnhylant998825 күн бұрын
Classy presentation. I'm not used to that from you. You often contort you mouth when singing which is very distracting. Didn't do it this time. Yes the pianist is Terrific. Lots of feeling in that rendition
@aleathacoleman641325 күн бұрын
?
@evalk193022 күн бұрын
@johnhylant9988 You would know, if you were a singer, that what you call contortion is how we naturally make different sounds. The little vocal inflections that Make the song what it needs to be. This is simply how it happens when singing a more complex song. It doesn't happen most of the time. If you don't like it, just look away and enjoy the music. If you care to contemplate the complexity of what she achieves vocally, you will then understand what is merely coming naturally to her. Personally. As an extremely talented singer. I understand what you mean, but think of it this way... When you hear her powerhouse of a voice in what is almost always Live, yes, it can be overpowering on rare occasions, if she is not properly being helped along with a professional sound man. Since it's live, there are no extra takes, mixing and editing, to polish her performance for the end result in a recording. She would need her own personal sound person, with a perfect ear and wealth of knowledge, who worked with her on Everything to tone down those few moments when she simply has too much powerful voice for what is being played. Together, they would work on what each needs to do in those parts of a performance. It's what band rehearsal is for. I hope this helps you to understand what is happening in those moments! As for your "classy" comment, it's simply untrue. I have yet to see a performance from her that isn't tasteful and classy!
@johnhylant998822 күн бұрын
Cute, but I do sing, albeit without the inflections. For me they are not needed and not to be used. A little more flat line singing. I'm happy if I can get my breath expanding my bellie and not my shoulders And getting others to breath that way.
@johnhylant998822 күн бұрын
Classy is opinion, pmj where I 1st heard her is not a classy presentation, fun, talented but not like the performance I'm referring to
@williamdunbar855425 күн бұрын
That was nice but your best work was still done with Post Modern Jukebox. Your tone falls off on the end of too many lines when you're being soft/breathy. I'm still an ardent fan though.

The pianist needed to tone it down. He was supposed to support the song, not become the show.

His “showing off” goes perfectly (musically) with the song. Like other songs during the middle intermission part where a bandmate usually gets to shine. Also it’s a precursor to the song going to another level - you should listen again 🎵 : )
