My father bought the 2002 Silverado brand new when it came out. I thought he was a super hero not knowing how much debt he went into to get it. Worked a 9-5 for 11 years while we kept that truck. Took us everywhere back and forth and ten more times. Passed it down to my brother who ended up totaling it in 2016 and i remember I hated my brother because it was supposed to be mine after I came home from the Army. My brother passed away almost two years ago, driving his own Silverado and I miss my dude so much. Just sitting here in my 2021 Silverado thinking to myself how funny life really is. Some trucks are really priceless. Started with my father and the legacy lives for my brother. Nothing like a man and his truck.

I had a 2007 Chevy Silverado that I got at 15. Had it until I was 28. It Saw all of high school and carried a lot of friends. Unfortunately Saw some of them get buried to. Carried my brother when I left for the military then saw me come home then saw me date and eventually get married. Saw me and my wife buy a house and it saw Covid-19 and the hard times that came with it. With All of that it became a part of me. I loved it but as time went on and money got tight as it will in life here and there it needed to go and bless someone else. This song brought that home for sure.

My Dad bought a 1990 Silverado when I was a kid. When gas prices hit 5$ a gallon he sold it in the mid 2000s. One day when I was 16 we were driving down the road and he heard the truck, (he was a mechanic for 20 years and did custom work to the truck). We drove up to it and it has a for sale sign on it. 8 years later it was back home. And his Angels hat was still stuck in the back underneath the seat. 8 years later we got both back and I drove it for another 8 years. Best time of my life. Now he has it again and drives it around Oklahoma.

I was a little kid when my dad brought home an 84' he bought brand new off the lot. I grew up in that truck, learned how to drive in it, and picked up the first girl I ever took out on a date in it. He drove it until 2011 when he finally decided to get a new one. I bought it from him, drove it around for a few years, and now I'm doing a frame off restoration on it to get it back to how it was when it came off the lot brand new. This song is awesome.

Got a similar story. Over here (Germany) I was owning an old GMC Safari Van. All build up as a travel van. It might sound crazy but back then it was my dream truck. But I sold it to provide a better living for her and me. Now that we're divorced I swear myself that I never ever gonna sell a vehicle that means something to me for a woman. Reminds me all of that song from Bill Weaver called "This old girl and me". One phrase is "beside the woman at home she's the only girl I love". He is singing about his 18 wheeler/tractor. And yes. This sums it up. There can be two in life (after learning it the hard way)...a car/truck/van/whatever and a girl/woman. That's my point of view now. Sorry for grammar mistakes. I'm a German native speaker.

"money's kinda tight but love don't care". that line hits home - this song brings me back to the days i was falling in love with my wife who lived in another town. every friday after work i'd have my old truck loaded up with a change of clothes and 50 bucks worth of gas to get myself up the highway. radio blasting and a grin on my face the whole way... i drove that thing into the ground those days... but that ol truck got me the prettiest girl in town. i remember the day she broke down and got towed away. felt like i lost a best friend. bittersweet, but i can't help but smile thinking back on those days.

Plowing snow men, riding around, there was almost no where that truck wouldn't go it was a beast. Well he didnt drive it too often. Well after maybe a year or 2 of having it the transmission went out and we barely made it home in 4 low the whole way. My dad was tore all to pieces and so was I. The first car I drove at 16 was my dad's 1998 white silverado with a red interior. It was my parents first car when they got married. Dad bought it brand new off the line when he worked at GM. I can't tell you how hard this song hits home. That truck turned heads, people would ask me if it was for sale and I'd have to say no. I've had so many memories in that truck but it has many more than me. I've had my heart broken and mended in that truck. It knows everything I've been through. I love that truck

I haven't seen a country artist blowup this big and transcend country since Garth Brooks. Morgan is such a huge talent. I sure hope he stays true to country music and his fans. It will be soul crushing if he sells out and goes the flashy pop route. Aldean has had the success and loyal base one because of the music, but more because he never strayed from what got him so far. I have paid to see Morgan live twice. I love his music, but wanted to support him as a big F... You to the left and cancel culture. They will never support who he is, I sure hope he knows that.

It’s so funny …bought my 2018 in 2020 Silverado at the start of “COVID” when sales were shit. Got a hell of a deal….now the dealership wants to buy it back in 2023 for more then I paid for it…20,000 more. It’s tempting but looking at the prices now I think I’ll keep her.

Every time I hear this song, I cry. I appreciate the love he has for his girl, but he shouldn't have to sell his truck. She should stop him! Ladies, don't let your man sell his truck for a ring! The fact that he is willing to do that is ENOUGH!

My comment isn’t about a Chevy, it’s about a Ford. I remember my father had a 2001 Ford F550 Super Duty dump truck with the 7.3L Powerstroke, and that was the first truck I learned to drive in. He put a different bed on it, and it was BEAUTIFUL! I loved that truck. When my father came home with a lightly used 2018 Silverado 1500 LT 5.3 in the late summer of 2021, he decided to sell the F550. I teared up as it rolled out of the driveway for the last time. I started to hunt for my own diesel truck. I ended up getting a rusted out 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the LB7 Duramax, and swapped it into an 04 chassis. It has been great, but it doesn’t quite capture the feeling that the Ford gave me. I am still searching for that same truck, and I hope one day I can buy it back. I HATE the Chevy my father has! Pick on me all you want for tearing up, but that F550 has gotten my father and I through a LOT of hard work!

The most Nostalgic part of the song isn't even all the memories of the truck, It's the idea of actually taking out an ad in a newspaper as oppose to craigslist or FB Marketplace.

When I met my husband in 2004, he had a black 1995 Silverado, got engaged in 2005, married Feb 2006-4 days later we found out that we were expecting, so sold his Silverado to buy me a newer car & the very first time I heard this song, I immediately thought of him. Now we have a 15 year old boy that has a 1993 Silverado & a 1985 Silverado that his papa gave to him!!
