id love a little info on what wires you used to do the DRL and turn signals. got my sealed7 2.0s today and just need to wait a few days for my antiflicker harnesses to come in!

I’m ok with everything but the blue wire. I assume you could fuse tap into the right fuse and just hook up those blue wire to that. Any idea which fuse might be best to tap into?

I was really hoping you showed that part, that was the main thing I was looking for since the instructions say nothing about what they go to.

@Carl Casper you have a few options w/these lights for those 3 wires terminated w/T-taps: 1. Bright DRL (white LEDs) lights when parking lights are on like mine: Tap WHITE wire into the wire that gives +12VDC to your parking lights when constant on, and BLUE wire to the wire that feeds +12VDC to your low beams, & ORANGE wire tap into wire that feeds +12VDC to your parking lights/turn signals when flashing. 2. In theory, you could also do everything I mentioned above but leave the BLUE wire disconnected & the white LEDs just won't dim when your headlights are on. 3. If you want the bright white LEDs to be on when your ignition is in accessory or run as well as every time your Jeep is running, you can basically find any fuse within your box that has switched +12VDC (power is hot when key in accessory/run) & connect the WHITE wire to that, but you won't be able to turn the DRL feature off unless you wire a simple switch in-line. When tapping into any fuse, I recommend using a device called "Add-a-circuit" or "Mini Add-a-circuit" for mini fuses. Google it...these can usually be sourced from your local auto parts store. Clean, easily reversible way to tap into the box without cutting into any factory wires or scabbing in any other shady way. Hope this helps & happy wrenching 🤙🏻

Hey @Randy Earley I just replied to another guy on here, @carl casper with some options for wiring these lights that may help you. If you're looking for more specifics than that let me know & what year/model your Jeep is. If not a Jeep, tell me the make as well.

Looks like it has a pretty solid bottom cut off line too I just ordered one for my motorcycle..you think I’ll be able to see the road under that bottom cut off line or will I have to put separate lights on to see that part of the road?
@coldsteeloffroad
@coldsteeloffroad 2 жыл бұрын
Hard to say...I reckon it all depends on how high your headlamp is in relation to the seat height, how tall you are, & where you like to aim your light. You're correct that the cutoff is pretty abrupt. I think you'll be ok & like you said, you can always add supplemental lighting. Thanks for the view & comment ✊🏻

So did you connect it so it could do the DRL, or no? I have a 2013 JK Sport but my Jeep doesn't have the "option" for DRL (at least that's what I think). So I was wondering if you connected your to have DRL? Secondly, is the anti-flicker really necessary for these?
@coldsteeloffroad
@coldsteeloffroad 4 жыл бұрын
I do not have mine wired as true daytime running lamps, but it could very easily be done by tapping into any existing 12v source that is hot when the ignition is on. You could also wire that function on a separate switch if desired. Mine are set up to simply come on whenever the parking lights have power and/or when the headlights are on. Anti-flicker harnesses are necessary because of the PWM technology the Jeep uses to power the headlights...try & look at it this way to understand better: do you notice how much more responsive/faster/crisper the LEDs in the headlights are switching on & off than my incandescent turn signal lamps that kinda "fade" on/off? That is basically why you need them. PWM is just a fancy term for flickering the power to the headlights really fast in order to capitalize on the slow on/off characteristics of traditional headlight bulbs while saving amperage draw (load) on the system. Hope this helps & if I didn't answer your question fully, let me know. Have fun & good luck 👍🏻

@@coldsteeloffroad if you didnt use the anti-flicker would the LEDs eventually get damaged or anything? My 16 has no DRL and I dont want to wire up the turn signals, just want basic headlights.

According to the Googler, rapid on/off switching of a LED should not affect its lifetime...I don't know everything 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣. I personally still wouldn't run w/the lights flickering. Thanks for the view!

Looks like you did these last April, what are your thoughts on the quality and light output ?
@coldsteeloffroad
@coldsteeloffroad 4 жыл бұрын
Light output is still what it was when new & I have had no issues w/them to this point. No fogging or burnouts. The anti-flicker modules (fancy-packaged capacitors) are holding solid as well w/zero flickering. Only interesting thing is that when covered in morning dew, the high beam is more diffused instead of being a tight oval w/pronounced edges...I like it better that way & this is not a problem anyway. Only complaint I have is that I wish they eliminated the small gap between the high & low beam patterns...kinda' stupid if you ask me. *Note that the low beams are plenty bright & are WAY brighter/better than my stock lamps. Advice if u get them: pitch the T-adapters included for the DRL & turn functions & hard wire into your factory headlight harness...the adapters are poor, cause intermittent connections, and invite corrosion. Let me know if u have any more questions & will help where I can.

Do you have a video of what the turn signals look like in the dark with the headlights on? I am looking at using these on a project, and they would be the only turn signals, so they would need to be visible with the headlights on.
@coldsteeloffroad
@coldsteeloffroad 3 жыл бұрын
@Kevin Osborne I operate the turn signal w/the headlights on at 7:33 granted it was during the day. You can see the amber LED's flashing w/the lights on...I don't know your intended application, but the only time it may be difficult to see the amber is if the headlight is shining directly into someone's eyes like from a very, very tall truck. If going on a normal height vehicle it shouldn't be a problem.
@kevinosborne2141
@kevinosborne2141 3 жыл бұрын
@@coldsteeloffroad I seen that you operated it during the day, so it all operates like I hoped it would, I am just concerned about not being able to see the signal in the dark with the headlights on. I would be installing it in a 79 Z28, so pretty low to the ground. I am looking at removing the factory turn signals, and turning them into air scoops for the engine.

Thank you! Those were (2) 4-LED cube lights from Rigid Industries mounted on the base of the windshield pillar. If you watch earlier in the video you'll see them. They were the only aftermarket thing on the Jeep when I bought it so I left them. Fog lights are still stock halogen for now but the lighting color doesn't match & looks weird. @@lelandhitchcock 1. Maybe you're smarter than the rest of us & just didn't fall for the marketing wank & not buy the harnesses. 2. If I recall right, I think I've ran across a couple posts online that said they couldn't notice the flicker w/o the harnesses; some said it was barely visible; and some said it drove them nuts. Quick question. I wanted to get the super 7s for my 2016 jeep jk but they too expensive for me. So I’ve been looking at these and I’m liking them. But I’m confused. On the extreme terrain website, the sealed 7s are like $630 bucks. But on another website, like headlight revolution, they’re $300 bucks. Why is that? I seen a comment saying that they only come with one headlight? That you need to buy 2. Is that true? Did you have to buy them in 2? Thank you!
@coldsteeloffroad
@coldsteeloffroad 3 жыл бұрын
When I bought mine I got them on sale for $250/each & I did have to purchase 2 of the headlights. The real deal will cost you between $500-$600...be advised that THESE LIGHTS ARE JOT JAPANESE as the name would suggest...they are MADE IN TAIWAN (which I found out after the fact). Still no issues with them to date though.

@@coldsteeloffroad oh dang alright might still invest in these though when I have the money. They look really nice. I just purchased some morimoto xb fog lights for my Jeep but I didn’t realize that I had to buy an adapter for it to be plug and play. I was bummed out after taking off the bumper and everything. So I figured just buy the adapter and might as well get some morimoto headlights as well to get it matching. But thanks buddy for answering my question!
