I admire people who knows the technical aspects of vocal performances: breath control, chest voice, head voice, etc., etc.. All I have is a pair of ears which is good only for listening. But I know a good voice and admire persons, like Morissette, who has this talent. I never had a favorite singer before until I came across Morissette. She is an amazing singer and....I am a big fan of hers.

and there is also a short clip of Mori on a cellphone (I think, it's been a while) where Jess of Little Mix exclaims how beautiful Mori's version is and no I wouldn't consider it an insult, to find more people are introduced to the original artists. I think you've haven't reacted to her cover of Never Enough (Loren Allred) and Loren loves Mori also. You might be new to Mori but for most of us, we've known of her for at least 3 yrs in the Western World and possibly 6 yrs if you live in the Philippines

Jade Thirlwall actually posted a video of her and other members of Little Mix excitedly watching on KZbin Morissette's stunning performance in that event. Personally I don't like people who say someone talent or gift is god given or supernatural or reincarnation of pass great talents. They are not, they are made by hard work and practice to bring out and hone that talent and interest on that certain thing they like. It can be sports, arts, music, math, science etc. It's all hard work and dedication. Personally I feel it diminish the hard work and effort that people put in to honing their talents when people say it's a gift from someone or something. There are millions of talented people who never get to practice and hone their talents for different reasons, in my mind people like you are saying that god gave those people the talent for nothing, just to rub it in their face. Sorry couldn't not comment, I tried to walk away but am weak. She is a great singer tho and beautiful voice.

When Mori does covers of other songs, she kills it. But when she comes out with an original song, it's so much tailored exclusively to her style, it's very hard to cover in a way that will outdo her rendition. There's a rumor (yeah ok; probably JUST a joke) of someone who was rushed to the hospital due to breathing problems. The patient apparently tried to sing Mori's "Akin Ka Na Lang" exactly like Mori did... but ran out of breath and fainted! 😁
