The Song however you interpret it, could mean many different things i suppose, In the Greatest Showman, it was about the Character getting a Promotion from P.T. Barnum, and starting her dream to be a Star. Was she talking to the Audience when she said "Without you" or P.T ? we don't really have a clear answer, But the "Take My Hand, and share this with me" I felt was directed to P.T. , but could have been the World. The catch phrase is the lyrics "Because darling without YOU" puts it all in everything working because of all the attention, and emotion into the meaning, Because if she didn't have Him/They, or whatever she meant, It would simply Never Be Enough. Even if she snatched all the starts from the sky! Her Hands could hold the World, But it would Never be Enough, (Without Them/him, or whatever she meant. If you ever feel like having a good cry, look up Morissette's live version of this song and make sure to put (highest version) at the end of the title. I think it was on a Mother's Day or something when she sang it but I could be wrong. Whatever was going on with her that day, the song made HER cry while she was singing it! Her own emotional state made her get SO POWERFUL while she was at it! It was CRAZY! Almost guaranteed to pull tears out of you. Morri is AMAZING and nothing less. :)

She has also covered 'Mariah's Version' of a couple of other peoples' songs. 'Against All Odds' was written and performed by Phil Collins but for some reason people say it is Mariah's song. She was not even around when Phil wrote it, she covered it twenty years after the fact. Morri covered Mariah's version. The band called Foreigner has a song called 'I Want To Know What Love Is' and SOMEHOW, YET AGAIN, Mariah is credited... Anyway, Morri beats Mariah at her own game. :)

Dude, the lyrics are „Without you, all the stars etc will never be enough“. So all the glamour and towers of gold will never be enough „without you“ (end of the first verse: „cause, Darling, without you…“) So the meaning is clear, if you listen to the whole lyrics…!

Great reaction. Morissette actually came out with a song off her EP called "Mirror". It's about how she dealt with depression and anxiety during the pandemic. The lyrics touch upon a lot of what you said. She talks about how she has to face herself and fighting her demons and loving who she is. Beautifully written.

She is a 5 feet 1 inch powerhouse, storyteller, genre killer (Rock, Pop, RnB, Broadway-/Disney stuff and RAP!). Her tone/ timbre and her breath control are outstanding. And she has always been a HUGE Whitney Houston fan so she also did a Whitney Medley, and of course did it WELL. I got tears from that, only watched it once. Morri's just like any other fan and was completely heartbroken when Whitney passed. You can feel her love for Whitney and she wanted SO BADLY to do the songs justice. She absolutely delivered. :)
