Well, not EVERY hit/poke/blocked shot, that would be too much lol. The standout plays to me are what make the final cut. I sometimes second guess the selections and worry that the casual viewer might not pick up on the subtle plays that are included (especially if the announcers don't notice it), but chances are they probably aren't watching a video longer than 5 minutes anyways.

I watch the NHL highlights on KZbin for the payoff games I don’t see. Those are the times I realize how excellent awood’s skills are. Seriously you could train them on what actual an actual highlight package should look like! Relevant plays…not just goals…something that hockey fans know and appreciate!

IQ through the roof. He's a perfect blend of Lidstrom and Konstantinov. All those small defensive plays that helped the team to transition from D to offense. By far, Wings most important player.

Was watching a lot of his Team Germany stuff this summer. He so rarely gets an assist or goal but he was the one creating offense with a genius pass or calm 1on1. He is impressive and I wish we could see him with Stützle and Draisaitle on TeamG one day

Yeah some of his hits look like it's 'NHL Blitz' or something lol.. like back then how some of us would hit or be hit by the opposing team's player and you say something like "ya, OkaY?!.. cuz that's realistic" but yet love it cuz it's fun.. Well Seider I guess brought the game to Life finally 😅.. he's definitely a CREATED PLAYER!😂 just as much as McDavid is.. Always believed Stevie had it RIGHT! even though I didn't know much about him when he drafted him..I just studied some highlights and read about him leading up to his season debut, and like a lot of us DEFINITELY not disappoint to say the least 😁👌 Happy he's on our team though! # LGRW!🔥🔥🔥

The crappy thing about Norris winners anymore is it seems to go to the defenseman the most points completely disregarding defensive play. IE Erik karlsson this past year. Honestly I think there should be 3 separate trophies for defenseman. Best offensive best defensive and best two-way.

To me this video is a good representation, of how much better we've gotten over the past few years... We did things this season, I don't recall seeing from the WIngs since the old Datsyuk days. I was impressed for a good portion of this season, those 2 Ottawa games though killed it for us. I am 100% certain Yzerman will be a busy busy caller this offseason, and he's gonna bolster this Wings roster 100%

I was wondering if that moment at 28:10 would be in here. I specifically remember that because it was an example of how hard he was still playing even as the games got less important toward the end, and the crowd loved it. Crazy to think he might still get better. He does so much so well already. I noticed toward the end of the season he seemed to be skating and making subtle shifts and moves to throw off defenders even more and it made me excited at the possibility that his offense will get even better. I have to admit that I kind of wish he and Chiarot could work because that's a big, nasty top pair. It was also nice seeing Ben always ready to jump in to protect him when teams got pissed at Mo. I don't see why they couldn't work well together if the whole team was playing well.
@thenickfoxx
@thenickfoxx 10 ай бұрын
It's unfortunately Chairot that seems to bring out the worst in both of them. Chairot has alot of tendencies that Mo has, but like on a lower-end level when it comes to dzone rotations and plays of that nature. That leads to bad chemistry, some guys just don't work well together. I agree though, it would be cool if they worked but Chairot has to work on some things. I also love your first paragraph, couldn't have said it better myself.

you don't really want two guys who like to take charge on the ice at the same time. Both of them are probably used to having linemates who rely on them to make all the skilled plays, so it probably threw off their playmaking and effectiveness early in the season

A lot less flashy hits this year which shows that forwards across the league now know enough to avoid Seider. But he's out there doing the dirty work of leading the team in blocks and hits while quarter-backing the first power play unit. I also noticed that he cut down a lot on the "kick save" blocks as the clip wore on. It can be effective but by turning the leg sideways, the likelihood of injury increases as there's a lot less padding on the side of your legs. I'd rather see Seider less injured than if we let in a goal here or there.
@awood40

Players across the league definitely picked up on the reverse hits, they didn't test him nearly as much this season.

Idk I love Seider, but for a quarter of this season, I thought he played like complete trash. Hronek had better stats not only Offensively, but Defensively as well than Seider for a good chunk of the season. He 1,000% improved though by quite a lot by the time the season was done, so I have no complaints whatsoever with Seider. He's clearly still young, and learning, and for what he's done, and proven so far, It's impossible to not be excited about him. Now on the other hand Raymond does worry me a bit. He really didn't perform that well this season. I was watching the World Juniors tournament the past couple weeks, and he's looked really really good out there, same With Carter Mazur, so I hope he just had little sophomore slump.
@chaotic4267
@chaotic4267 10 ай бұрын
@J Leif being paired with Chiarot was a major reason for why he seemed to play badly for a stretch. The only thing that was actually affected was his point production, though. And the tourney you mentioned wasn't juniors. That was the senior tournament that's effectively treated as a B tournament because of the relative lack of talent that tends to show up.

This may be an extreme example but Seider reminds me of Vladdy Konstantinov. Maybe not quite as good but I’d say a 10% off version of Vladdy. Lock him up long term Stevie.

Not sure how I feel about him turning his legs to the side on his shots blocks. Apparently he's got great shinnies maybe with a lil extra on the side because that's a scary gamble to do over and over. Also the way he goes down while doing it is awkward as well. I guess when you're young that's all good but may be a bad habit down the road.

I would argue that Mo Seider is the most complete defencemen in the NHL since prime Duncan Keith. The game sense, the commitment, the hands, the strength, the shutdown ability, and the offensive capabilities on top of all of that. There has not been a defence in the league in a while who is just that incredible at everything.

The current likes are 295 and dislikes are 7. I have to think the dislikes are from fans who picked before the Red Wings and got gipped plus Ducks fans.

I don't know where you are pulling those stats from, but they are incorrect. 296 to 1 at the time of this reply.

@@awood40 Maybe KZbin is fucking with us bud. Wouldn't be the first time. Currently I'm showing 312 to 7

Still only see the 1. It's at a 99.7 % ratio though. 7 would be an unusually high number at this point, typically on this channel they are somewhere between 1-3 until the views get past 10K.

@@awood40 Yeah I'm still showing 312 to 7. Anyways the point was that I figured the 7 were fans of teams that got a higher draft pick in 2019 and a worse player. Or ducks fans. I would rather have Seider then Zegras, and I've felt that way since we made the pick. Love your channel, been following for years. Thank you for what you do.
