I had read somewhere that in a church publication in 1936, that the church had endorsed Germany's Adolf Hitler as having some of the same values as the church.

I wonder what the symbolism of the extended thumb is... Probably something to do with Jesus Christ's love for me as my Savior, right? I hope I can be so spiritually tuned-in so that some day I'll understand all this beautiful temple symbolism..." [In the brain of my dad--who got his endowment in 1977--at the same moment, sitting next to me in my endowment ceremony in 2002:] "Good thing my son will never know the meaning of the extended thumb..." 😅

No, the lecture at veil did not include the Adam God doctrine. The documentation on it is only how Brigham wanted to make the changes. There is no record of it ever being officially implemented. No one wrote in their journals or in letters about a change being made to the lecture or later having it dropped from the lecture. It's one of those fictional stories which gets pasted around.
