One of the three Nephites helped my mom change a flat tire. It was night and he had a special glow so she knew with every fiber of her being who he was. When she told the story in testimony meeting, she started speaking in tongues at the end which just makes her even more sure.

I always thought that was hilarious. Nelson presents the Pope with a mini Jesus statue. Like the Pope really needs another Jesus around the office. The statue probably ended up somewhere in the Vatican basement. As Nelson was leaving, he probably was patting himself on the back, thinking he had given the church some credibility that we're Christian too. The at the time was thinking, "Who the hell are these guys a nd who let them in here.

Yes. The top leaders sometimes seem so devoid of common sense. The Pope does not need a jesus replica statue that you stole from the Christus, an1833 white Carrara marble statue of the resurrected Jesus by Bertel Thorvaldsen located in the Church of Our Lady, an Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Thank you. I feel slughted. I'll be 64 in 1 & 1/2 months, God has never communicated with me. I still did okay. I always thought of others. Being moral is #1, no matter one's faith or no faith (me). I was named volunteer of the month twice in a Top Fortune 100 company.

Over 600k members, with 571 congregations means there are over 1,000 members per congregation. LOL! They're definitely not all active. I'll be really generous and say they've got 250 people per congregation, which makes less than 143k members in the whole country.

Your three nephite post is in interesting. I used to do the ward Christmas elf secretly with my family. Then one Christmas a family that was in need that we “elfed” with a generous basket of toys and goodies got up during fast and testimony to thank her home teachers for their generous gift that as soon as she found had called them and they confirmed they had dropped it off. And yes it was my basket since she brought it for visual reference to the power of God and home teaching. That was the last time we ever elfed anyone.

It's not supposed to be used for political or commercial purposes but is often. I got called by ward members so many times to see if I wanted to be part of their MLM.

If you go to 2:12 on this youtube video: "A Book of Mormon Suitable for Kings and Presidents? The Legacy Book of Mormon!" it discusses how some leaders give away these editions. It looks like rasband has given away a few and Nelson has given away at least one. So yes, while they definately give away other things, they did come up with a special edition of the Book of Mormon that is nice and fancy to be given away to foreign leaders, diplomats, etc.

The members in the area are responsible for all the preparations for the ceremonies. Don't know if SLC gives money for this, or if the local members eat those costs...

I would love to see the 10-page NDA that instructs the priesthood-authorized method by which each shovel should be painted, blessed, sanctified, set apart and consecrated. "Hey Brother Johnson, can you gather the Elders Quorum to come over and bless the shovels? Now where did I put that consecrated WD-40?"

Presenting a leader of another nation with a book of your own prophetic words is almost as pretentious and arrogant as presenting your words and imaginary thoughts to the world as the words of God. Joseph Smith set the precedent of absolutely nothing being off limits. And true to form, the leaders of the church have followed his direction without hesitation. When the membership is indoctrinated to blindly accept the leadership and its absurd words, the leaders become numb as to what is obviously strange to non members. Another great report! I am not sure how the Q15 hold up the facade of greatness...at some point they have to realize it's all a scam.

@@GenerallyUnquotable I am a never before mo, so this is just my view from outside the Mormon box. I believe the members feel the more they accept what is taught from the pulpit without hesitation, the holier they are. I believe if someone expresses doubts or poses a concern, other members view their testimony as being weak. This view of that member puts them on the Persona non grata list and they stand the chance of becoming an outsider. It seems to me this behavior is not only accepted, but is encouraged throughout the church. It keeps the membership in line.

The algorithm was very nice to bring your videos to my feed. :) So I’ve watched two of your videos… and can let you know Book of Mormons can and are customizable and in various shapes and sizes. Royalty and government leaders of other countries are not given standard $3-$5 Book of Mormons. I have even purchased journal editions for myself and friends- the size varies. It doesn’t make sense to gift a leader a Book of Mormon every single time you meet with them, one special copy is sufficient. Should they inquire about a book a Prophet has written, it’s beautiful to receive one hand delivered. Your criticisms are based on your own opinion. Rather than share updated statistics of membership activity in an area, you’ll say confidently, most of which likely aren’t active. You are pretty judgmental while criticizing others for coming across as judgmental. Afterall, why use the church’s “standard” for what “active/inactive” entails as a basis for you to pass judgement on the numbers of membership in an area? Those numbers represent people who entered the waters of Baptism and filled out a form with info to receive a membership record number, and up to this point, have not had their name/membership removed. That’s all you know for certain about these sheep. These sheep who are not numbers, but known by a loving Father in Heaven… regardless of any addictions, social status, church attendance or strip club attendance. He knows why they entered those waters and submitted their name, even if only for one day. He knows and He loves them. He knows and loves those who did not enter the waters of Baptism. He knows and loves those who did have their name removed from the record. President Russel M Nelson is surely a flawed human being, He also is a Prophet of God. Sure he’s written and given away copies of a book… but he never allows an opportunity to pass where he calls upon people to look to Jesus Christ. He has pleaded, urged, counseled, warned and advised everyone on Earth to seek the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost and to seek personal revelation directly from God hundreds of times in his ministry as Prophet. Words and actions matter. He absolutely works to bring people closer to the atoning power of Jesus Christ when you’re willing to listen to him speak. Your energy and time are being spent to tear down. Even if you think he’s a corrupt, greedy, misguided, self-aggrandizing or deceiving individual… what are YOU doing with YOUR time? God hold you accountable for what’s in your heart, he’s not going to ask you what any church or church leader did, he’s going to ask you about YOU.

If He exists, which I am not willing to base my choices on. When I left the church, online creators saved me and helped me deconstruct. I am so grateful for them and am simply paying it forward. I’ve been chastised by many well meaning active members and it doesn’t bother me because I would have done the same thing. You are simply doing what you’ve been indoctrinated to do. I share my opinions because I feel like it.

You need to get a life. Have you read President Nelson's book? It's an incredible read, and I would be proud to give it to anyone if it was mine. As far as the Book of Mormon being a better book, that depends. Both are scriptures, and I would say the B of M would be much easier to have the local missionaries bring him a copy of that and tell him about it at the time. The man is a renown heart surgeon and leads the fastest growing church in the world. DO YOU THINK HE'S DUMB?
