You wanna know why you should pay attention to this? ALA is a religious school that is funded by tax payers in the same way traditional district public schools are because it is a charter school - not a private school. They do not have an independently elected school board that should oversee the budget, hiring, and superintendent evaluations. Every other public school in AZ has to release the salaries of their staff (in aggregate) and respond to FOIA’s (freedom of information act requests) because that’s how tohe public and the press can expose corruption. The secrecy, lack of regulatory oversight, and religious teching that goes on in the school is tax fraud that should be investigated. Guess who owns several of these charter schools? Mormons. What would happen if a different religion did this? If Catholics had charter schools or Islam? I think you can guess. This guy has had problems with not getting his way and using violence to show his displeasure. He has also shown he is willing to break the law. What would happen to any other school district superintendent who did that?

I taught at a private Mormon school for a year. Low salary-- no benefits-- irregular paycheck-- required to volunteer my weekends/holidays to chaperone students on quarterly camping trips. Probably lack of faculty lists is due to half the faculty resigning midyear, every year.

I looked into a developer job for the church a long time ago. Found out the salaries were half the market rate. They prey on graduates out of BYU, then they get a few years experience and move on. No senior people that really know what they are doing as they are unwilling to pay to keep people. That is why their sites and apps take forever to get bug free. Then they teach about being self sufficient, getting an education, and hoard hundred of billions.

That is very true the pay with the church is well below industry standards and to stay employed you must give them back 10% of your wages as tithing.

Huge concern to all schools in Utah! I cant even begin to list all the famous mormon killers like Ted Bundy! But they are the best Con Men with multi level marketing strategies! The Tim Ballards of Utah will get away with it!

Just wanted to clarify that many non ALA charter schools are top notch. This particular one gives the others a bad name, unfortunately. I have Mormon family in Tucson who attend one, and they are receiving the very best education.
