And the host is usually a total insincere kiss-ass. Interviewers ask nothing of interest or substance, just what it was like making the project while smiling and nodding vacantly, intermittently pausing for forced laughter at the asinine celebrities canned response. Truly dismal.

Exactly!! It's all so scripted these days that even if the host and the guest have great personalities, there is no witty banter because they just want to rush to the next questions. The 'conversation' part is gone, it's all 1 dimensional and stiff. I think it's the reason long-format podcasts are doing so well. Audiences are hubgry for fleshed out meaningful and fun conversations in intws. Late-night will die out soon.

Betty White is doing her "Sue Anne Nivens" bit from The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where the character Sue Anne was catty as Hell, but so sweet at the same time, like she was smiling the whole time she ripped you a new one. Joan Rivers and Betty White, their quick wit as you point out, were two of a kind. Once Betty is gone, that will be the last of a era. No new female comedians can even come close. All Amy Schumer can do is talk about her smelly body parts, and make disgusting jokes. These two were actually funny, and smart to boot! A great video!! Thanks to the channel creator for posting.

Joan guested on Roseanne, they were great together. Despite the accent, Joan played Roseanne's Lanford cousin, totally took the p*ss out of each other.
